Yes.  No transmissions, clutches, starter, flywheel or battery.

Just a magneto and quick change diff with in/out lever on a cable running inside.

No transmission 😮 just in and out of gear with no clutch?

Race I went to after every mishap it took so long getting everyone going again that all had to stop and add fuel.

I went to the race to see Steve Smith that we sponsored with Golden Spectro oil for many years.

"No transmission 😮 just in and out of gear with no clutch?"

Correct.   All you have is go.

Everything else is handled in the quick change  like BigDogPaint401 alluded to, as they changed gears.   Only takes a few minutes to do.

No my father in law buildt a33 coupe blown on alcohol and had that 33 in the same font and I ran it to give him kudos and also that’s the number it had so extra incentive because it felt right, also my uncle ran number 3 and dale sr was my favorite driver

That’s why we call them push and flips.

Yeah he’s a maniac for sure and he never wrecked racing for 20 years +

Does he still do any boat related stuff? Does he still have that flat? This is my Hondo I play with. Competition is non-existent in the Northeast. With the IHRA buying up all the sanctioning bodies I hope have some events with 15 hours of me to try. I would just run some bracket stuff, my wallet isn't ready for any heads up classes haha.

Yeah he still has everything, he has the capsule boat, my girlfriend has a 76 hondo with a 454 that’s waiting to be painted whenever I get around to it and we “agree” on a paint sheme (when she gives into me wanting to do something insanely flashy) and then Tony just got a t deck to build

Just talked to my buddy’s screen printing guy, couple weeks, hoodies too yes. Had a little Chinese fire drill, checked my front axle and it was bent and out of square, put one on that I had laying around and it’s shorter and the rod to adjust the toe was off, got it sorted out and about to load up and head out to Ventura raceway in a couple hours

Heading out of the house in about an hour to go watch some Winged 360s at Hendry County Speedway, The Southernmost Dirt Track in the US!

Have a safe and fun night out there!

Get your extra radius rods dialed in to the correct length for the axles (squared to motorplate and castor set to spec) ,  set the jam nut, label with a sharpie and have them on hand,  preset,  so axle change-outs go faster.

Have fun and stay outta the fence.

Car teched and waiting for hot laps at 3:30, with the front end squared and the toe correct it already steers way better just being pushed by the quad 👍

Youre bad as me on setup.  LOL   Gotta be at least ten-and-quarter on RR and thousands everywhere else.

You gotta wonder if they run a tie-down on the LR cuz they dont use a wing.

I would think it would be something like the old 4/6-7 so it'll roll a little, instead of a 2/8 or so. The last shocks on the cars i worked on were Penske clickers and they were about 34 clicks each side ... thankfully no in-car adjusters so the driver couldn't screw it all up 🤣

Youre prolly right on the shocks.   I cant imagine having in-car clickers.

Speaking of blocks,   I used to have those old hard plastic setup blocks that came in a kit and were different colors. (wish I could remember what they brand was called,  bought them from Kears) There were a pain to get to stay put on the frame rail, so I ended up just making some blocks outta wood that would stay put when I would block it by myself.   Nowadays there are all manner of fancy adjustable aluminum dealios.

Yes tie down on the left, car came on the trailer in one piece, apparently sprint cars don’t handle very well without power steering I learned, had to pull in about ten laps into the main because it was completely unruly, discovered that I’ve never had power steering since after the first day I drove it up at wyvern on the circle track my buddy grant cut in. So when we went to the practice day at Ventura last week it was super hard to handle and I was getting gnarly arm pump, and I thought it was because the track is faster and grippyer, then today I thought it was hard to handle because of the new sticky tires we put on. So I think I’ve been learning to drive with no power steering this whole time 😐 good thing is when we get power steering we’re going to be in business, heat race did not get lapped, got dropped by about half a lap in the ten laps it ran.  🫡 super pumped to get the car sorted out and will be posting videos tomorrow

Congratulations on having a clean night !!!

Sorting the car is going to take a time but that's part of the fun!!

JAFO ... yes, adjustable aluminum blocks with magnetic bases are very nice, I've used homemade wood ones as well as the plastic. Whatever gets the job done.
