I’m looking for the following for a basket case build:
Expansion chamber, forks (with good anodizing), wheels.
I’ve got a ‘94 CR125 and have a set of triple clamps from a ‘96. I’m open to all later model forks, as long as I can get them to work with the ‘94.

If you going to to replace the forks, just get 07-08 twin chamber CrF 250/450 front end…this will give you way better front brakes and the forks are just as good as modern forks after proper setup. Pipes are 92-97 pretty easy to find pipes, depends what you are looking for…the stock pipes are actually very good performance wise…I have a 93 and a 97, parts are out there…..
I’m coming from a YZ build, so I’m trying to learn all the year changes for the CR. I know All Balls shows that most of the steering stem bearings carry over year to year, but the issue I had with my YZ was stem length. Dealing with standard 43mm Showas, it was easy to mix and match, but I’m lost on the USD forks. It appears that the fork diameters changed quite a bit for the CR, and I’m trying to piece together what works with what. What I seem to understand is that 94’ and older front ends are limited…4 bolt rotors, etc. Thanks!
Thanks. I’m now leaning towards ‘04-07 CRF250 47mm. Seems they’re not that much more used.

I have a pair of rebuilt (seals / oil) forks & triples from a 95 CR125 if still looking.
Look at Asheville nc marketplace and there’s a 2008 crf450 triple clamp, forks, brake and wheel. $500 I believe.
The mid 90s 46mm KYB forks were decent for there time, most folks liked them over the Showa TCs that were on the 250 at the time. I agree the 47mm showa TCs that came on the CRFs are a way better setup for that bike. I had some on my 91 CR250 along with a modded shock from a newer bike.
I think I have a set of RaceTech delta valves for those mid 90s kybs tucked away somewhere. I even have a set of CRF forks in the attic if I was to ever find a CR250 to put them on. At this rate I might find a CR125 for my son who is almost ready for a full size bike before a 250 shows up. lol
I’ve been doing a bit of research on shocks and swingarms. ChatGPT is adamant that swingarms up to 97 for the 125 and 96 for the 250 are a direct swap. It looks like most of the bushings and pivots are the same, but I’m sure the linkages are all slightly different from year to year.
Also…stator covers. I’ve read in some places that the 95 and newer stator covers won’t fit on the 94. However, Boyesen has one part number for 88-07. There’s a vendor of sand cast HRC covers and he says it fits 88-01. Can anyone confirm fitment across the years?
