Is it just me, or have you guys noticed an astronomically high increase in insurance these days!

Of course my automobiles, house and motorcycles are all due at the same time.

And yes I've shopped around, but can't seem to find any that have reasonable prices. What do you guys do or recommend?

I've increased my deductibles, removed full coverage from my commuter car etc.

Our auto insurance dropped by almost 50% when me moved back north from Texas.....

I remember that there was a time when Texas was known to have the highest jury payouts in the country, not sure if that is still the case or not but I assumed that was why our rates jumped so dramatically when we moved down there.

That and all that pesky hail......!

Trump said insurance is the lowest ever.  Must just not for you.

It was 3 years in a row of catastrophic losses across Texas,  mainly north of Austin to the Red River.  Most certainly the D/FW and surrounding suburbs.  Home and auto both.    Every company selling policies were hammered like had never happened before.   Add in never seen rises in materials/supplies costs due to COVID, it was a time of unprecedented losses.   Reinsurance only goes so far,  if you have it.

AAA has been driving me bonkers.  I got 3 different bills over a 10 day period, the first one was almost 4K, the 2nd one was 32 something, then the next one was more than the first. I went in asking what are you guys doing, I'm ready to jump ship after 40 some odd years. Then I did some researching and learned if I switch carriers I get so hosed on homeowners insurance that it cancels out any savings I might get. So I wound up staying at AAA but changing some things. They had full coverage on my KTM, switched that to the minimum. Dropped bodily injury from 100/300 to 30/90. And then I found out by switching my Dodge diesel truck to an "RV" I don't have to pay the weight fee ($204' per year)  So.... I put a 2 ton overhead camper on my truck, and now I don't have to pay a weight fee. Makes sense 😄 We drove that truck for 20 years empty 99% of the time. Throw 4K lbs of camper in the back and now no weight fee. It would of been cool for Lance to pass that bit of info on when I bought the camper.  I also learned that "If" I get caught driving the truck without the camper on it I'll get written up. They let me keep the old commercial plates though and since I pay my registration early they're good until March 2027. So if I need the camper off for truck maintenance I can put the old plates back on and go under the radar for awhile, (as long as they dont run it) After that if the truck needs to get worked on without the camper I'm risking a ticket. For 204' a year I'll roll the dice. The camper doesn't come off the truck very often, and then just to get serviced. The whole weight fee thing is a scam. How much do those fucking Tesla's weigh ?

My car insurance actually went down 12% on Feb. 1.

See what the home owners does here in a few weeks

Don't jump ship, providers reward your allegiance.

I turn 25 this month and I’m hoping that rumor of insurance dropping once you hit 25 is true. I drive a 20 year old work truck, one accident where I got obliterated by an asshat that ran a red light, no speeding tickets or anything like that and my rates have barely dropped since I was in high school.

They’ll never come for our guns or bibles but they will price us out of existence via taxes and insurance. It’s legalized corporate gambling. Would it be shocking to know that all of the shit bag politicians are heavily invested in these scum fuck insurance companies? It’s one of the their major investments.

I’m 38, home gym I use 6 days a week, watch what I eat, around 15% bf, never have to go to the doctor, and rarely sick. I use the chiro here and there. Talk to a therapist twice a month. Health insurance keeps going up every year. I also have labs done twice a year and supplement accordingly. I’m taking better care of myself than a ton of other people. Why is my health insurance over 700/month? It’s a bunch of bullshit. I should be getting discounts for the extra I do. Felcia fat ass with the shopping cart loaded with pop, junk food, and processed shit should pay higher premiums. Property taxes have doubled since we moved here in 2018 and all we’ve done to the house is add two walls to the basement for a fourth bedroom. It’s insane.
