Luxon or ProTaper Independent Bar Mounts

I recently came across the Luxon 4-post Rubber bar mounts and the Pro Taper VDS mounts. Both seem like a similar product, so I was curious if anyone has tried them? I haven't seem much feedback online, aside from an MXA review on the Luxon (on a KX.) I have PT Evo bars on stock Yamaha clamps and it's actually really nice. But I figured if anyone can comment on if these give even more comfort, the I'd maybe give them a try. I know on my EMTB, I am really sensitive to vibration through my hands. And I tried a few things to help. So even though my YZ isn't giving me any problems, I just thought these were worth considering. My concerns would just be if they don't twist (supposedly the Luxon at least improve in that area,) if the dampening actually works, if I can run my normal PT 2.0 bar pad without chopping it up. And I also have a 2nd hour meter on top of the clamp (since I switched to a Vortex) so i would hope to retain that in it's current location.  Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

i run the PHDS bar mounts on my stock Honda clamps. I would have got the Pro Tapers if I new about them, little cheaper and same thing. I also run PT Evo bars. no interest in the Luxon for me

I run the Luxon 4 post mounts. Really helped with vibration on my Husky.

Luxon has the best fit and finish of any aftermarket parts I’ve seen. Truly superior products in my opinion.

In the past I've run RG3 clamps back when OE clamps had integrated rigid bar mounts for 7/8 bars.
The RG3 was the best system available with their four post mount design because they cannot twist like OE single posts with rubber cones.

I've ridden bikes with XTRIG mounts.  They perform well and are superior in function to the OE rubber cone style because they cannot twist.
The trouble with the XTRIG system is working on them.  They have a whole stack of parts to mess with every time you take off your bars.

The Pro Taper system looks similar to the XTRIG system in terms of assembly / disassembly... It's more complex and bulky.

The Luxon looks closer to the old RG3 design, but adapted for single post top clamps.
It should do as well at damping vibration with easier assembly / disassembly.
Billy is a clever dude with good design in most of his products.
I am thinking about trying a set of these on my GasGas to reduce hand fatigue in longer motos.

Regular Pro Taper bar pads are loose on Austrian bikes because KTM uses a reduced size bar clamp relative to the Japanese bikes (specifically Yamaha and Kawasaki in my case).
The Luxon top clamps appear to match the profile of the OE Austrian bar mounts so the traditional pro-taper bar pad is most likely going to rock front to rear on those.  Likely, the bar pad will fit tighter on the bulky Pro Taper, XTRIG and Japanese style bar mounts.

This is all great info, so thank you for that. I do remember a while ago reading a Keefer test that did have the independent Xtrig bar clamps and I do remember it being a lot of parts and whatnot. So I wasn't too interested in that and honestly kind of forgot about it since. But now that you mentioned that, I now can see some potential similarities with that Pro Taper version. If that is the case, then I would probably lean towards the Luxon ones. The bar pad thing is not a huge deal but the 2.0 pad is more like a rubber than the old porous foam, so I didn't know if I would have to cut it or how it would fit, since it's a different type of firm material. If it rocks around a bit, it's not the end of the world. But yeah, thanks everyone for the input.

I think I'm going to order those for my KTM 350. I still have the stock setup and I am not a fan of it.

I have Luxons, I just cartwheeled my bike yesterday and the bars didn't twist 😂 Luxon is now my favorite brand in the sport

Luxon just came out with an updated bar mount, haven’t seen any reviews yet. I run the 4 post on my Husqvarna FC 350 and have no complaints.
