Is any other product named as a promise, an empty promise? "Holeshot Device".. and ALL 22 careers, lives,,, behind the gate has 'got-it'.. And now GRATES too.. foot blocks ..'.LETS SEND THEM ALL ONTO THE STAKE TOGETHER'.... It's as if the gate rules are designed to cause all the shitty first turn kaos and injuries... Who benefits?
Get a load of Mr Literal guy ova heeeere.
Isnt this your 3rd thread in two weeks about this?
Where is the study showing that hole shot devices are a proven cause of first turn incidents? To substantiate a claim, you have to prove it, like, with facts.

Get Rid of it.... What is there to loose? (Spell'g)
I also put forth, zero triples at lap inception... those are gone... perhaps the same 'board of directors' endorse the start device
..
It's beautiful...if we get rid of it....... The same talented riders will get good starts... But they'll be another foot or three away from each other.... hence less carnage.... the 'deep field '. stays deep... EVERYONE benefits... Win-Win. Even Barnam & Bailey Circus make more $$$ to hand out...
Please provide data that there are more 1st turn crashes now with start devices.
Change your name, not worthy of the MrMoto namesake 😆
Still Prado has a secret to beat Everyone with that device. I quess the competition lack’s talent
I believe when he speaks of the Holeshot device, he is speaking of the toy his man gave him for Christmas. He wants to go back to the older, more “ Natural “ way .
I think he spelled Mota wrong.
Ignoring the injuries, given every rider uses it... it basically makes the device redundant. Arguably, it would be better racing to have slower initial first corner speed. And would also place more emphasis on riders as they would need to balance the throttle more. I am aware you can set up a holeshot device differently between bikes and riders. But if everyone has the same advantage (more or less), then the advantage is no longer there. I would say in motocross it might be different because the starts are usually way longer, but in supercross, it would be better to slow it down. Similar suggestions about reducing the size and quantity of the jumps have been made earlier. I don't have the strongest opinions one way or the other, but I do think Supercross has evolved to be a sport whereby theres the elite riders (probably <5 riders) and then the rest. And also made very difficult for non-factory riders to get good results. As an overall, anything which might keep riders in the race and healthy I think should be looked at or trialed.
Let them all do a fast lap then use dartfish to overlay all 20 racers for a digital main event. Also raise the cost of rider entries, raise ticket prices, and cancel the live streaming, limit the bikes to 20hp, reduce the sound to whatever electric bikes make, make it a law where dirtbikes only cost $2000, raise the racer age to 21, maximum age 25, hold all the races within 1 hour of me, give Feld total control of everything, co-sanction with monster truck races, remove the triples, only 6 whoops, give the bikes an extra set of wheels, shoot WWE style promo videos, mandatory press conferences for all riders.
Holes hot devices do suck. Just not for the reasons mentioned or assumed.
Get rid of electric starters and have dead engine starts on wet plywood. 💪
Pit Row
I don't have proof, but my perception is that holeshot devices and grates have equalized things such that more riders end up in the first turn together, less stragglers. I can't say that it's resulted in more privateers and satellite team riders getting a top 5 start though, so skill and bike still matter.
I'd still rather we not have them. It would make finishing position or qualifying time that much more important, along with start skills and reading the terrain when picking your gate.
True, yes - It's beyond a hassle... & seeing the teams set the pins on live TV just magnifies how Goofy it is...
Craig crashed into Tomac because his device had already sprung, but he didn't think it did and he nailed the front brake.. almost took Tomac outta the series...
Spreading out riders going into the first turn, along with holeshot devices not getting stuck will reduce some crashes, and separate riders by skill.
I'm in favor of getting rid of holeshot devices, start grates, and possibly more than 1 foot block.
I'm also slightly in favor of limiting each bike to one ECU map per race. This would be difficult to detect, but would also add another factor into the equation, and most likely slow the speed into the first turn.
All of this said, I think the riders in the back going into turn one are there because they weren't willing to 'Send it' into the first turn chaos.
Hell yeah @Sandberm656! I second this motion, all in favor say aye! 🤣 #MAKEMOTOCROSSMANLYAGAIN
Post a reply to: Holeshot Device = Rider attrition device. Tomac - fractured arm Daytona, Kenny out with thumb fracture first corner...
