In my opinion, a lapper can do nothing but negatively affect the race. I think that when they get the blue flag the safely exit the track as soon as possible, and their race is done.

We've all seen it countless times where a rider loses time, or falls because of a lapper. If the leader has a gap you dont notice them too much. But anytime there is a battle, they play a huge factor.
They have played roles in wins and championships many times. Ken Roczen as an example for both.

2 laps down and off the track maybe? What if they lap into 8th? 8th and 9th should pull off?

FFS….just neuter the entries to 10 factory salary riders, then watch 6-10 place get lapped with a more wide open track. Then there will be crying about that and how boring it is. Ridiculous new to the sport “fans”.

In this race Roczen played it great in the battle with Hunter and the lapper on the right causing Hunter to check up.  I think it adds to the race and part of the strategy is how you handle the traffic.

Let’s cancel whoops aswell- countless times whoops have ruined a riders race..

lappers are just another ‘obstacle’ to overcome.
The best rider to tackle the obstacles, wins.

Lappers are both part of and IN the same race... just because you're not watching them until they're "in the way" doesn't mean they're not racing.

And they pass it back and forth like a baton in relay race when they pass each other. 🙄

I dont know what gets more redundant threads started about it every week, lappers or RC sucking in the booth. Lappers are a part of racing. The top guys all have to navigate getting around them equally. You want 10 guys in the main? Its actually wild this is brought up so much. Its racing FFS. There's lappers.
