But I guess Roczen/cairoli etc are so attracted to the money they could make in SX they don't accept contracts that forbid them to race there? If I invested money based on someone performing in either serie, I wouldn't wanna see them get hurt racing something else...?

I'm obviously as excited too see how he will do as everybody else. Both the SX and MX serie should gather all the best riders in the world. The SX is soon there.

I Wonder when MX will come around? Why can't Youthstream and MX Sports agree on a serie together? That would put an end to the endless discussion of GP vs AMA.

Its so nice to see the admiration for him growing in the States, just as it was when people started to sit up and take notice of Pourcel. Roczen is on his way to great things in the sport.

He is earning respect----no different than in any other country. I'm sure Zach338 had to "earn" the respect of the euros, which is entirely understandable. Didnt take Zach too long to earn respect over here, think he came 2nd or 3rd in his first race at Foxhills and was clearly fast as hell. He's another nice guy too.
Zach was at the Victory Sports Indoor race in Tenn. last weekend. I have seen Zach and his dad Mark at the local races since he was on 50`s. Running the FIM races has made him a different(his style) and better rider than anyone could imagine. He came from a 6th place start to the front passing some really good and fast guys along the way. He did it doing just what bradmx421 said about Roczen, he was doing things the others were not. Roczen,Musquin,Zach and others running the MX2 stuff have done there homework and will be a threat. Can I believe what bradmx421 said when he started this thread,,,yes. After watching Zach on a very tight indoor track I can see Roczen having that speed on a SX track. As for me, what state,country or planet they come from means nothing. Every rider on the gate is my hero.

alot of people on here get all defensive when you compliment a european rider, but at the end of the day- we all have riders we like to see do well. I want to see roczen and pourcel do well because i have followed them all the way through their careers, and love how they ride- pourcel is so smooth and technical on a bike, roczen is so aggressive!

he is just insanely talented (at 16 years old) - whenever any rider like that comes along there is always lots of 'hype' surrounding them, ken is the real deal. He has everything

Anyone know what other German born riders have raced Supercross here in the States?

I cant think of any off the top of my head....

Obviously if he wins a SX championship , he would be the first German ever.
Which is pretty cool.

The kid obviously has great speed and hopefully he will get some good starts this season.
I'm looking very forward to seeing what he can do.

No German raced US SX so far.
As far as I know Adolf Weil and Willy Bauer raced the TransAMA Series in the 70´s

I started reading this thread SO impressed at the american ability to respect Ken for the fast rider he is and pleased that there was genuine enthusiasm towards him riding in America and seeing how he does.

Then it did turn into a US vs Euro thing, which sucks.

I hope Ken does well, I hope he shows a few American riders how its done on their own turf, but thats just because he's a great rider and for a 'euro' rider to do well over there is a great achievement, as (I supposed if they ever did it recently) it would be for an American rider to win World championships.
