I am taking my wife and kids to Disney on December 26th-2nd or Jan. I am sneaking my fo-fiddy down there with me and was curious as to what tracks are in the area or Orlando. I only know of Bithlo, and from the video's I have seen, doesn't look that great other than the sand. I was going to see if any of you Florida guys could chime in and let me know where I should go, or any good spots to ride down there. Thanks

I have never been to Bithlo before, but Bartow looks pretty similar. It just over an hour from where you'll be. Other than that, I dont know of any close by the orlando area. I think the next track is Dade City....

Give Bubba a call. I'm sure he won't mind you riding at his compound. He'll be in CA testing anyways so he'll leave Sorby the key. That's what i did last time I was in Orlando. But in all seriousness it looks like the only option is Bithlo. Or if you got the connections for Jame's compound. Haha.

Shit, thats what I was guessing. Well, maybe the dirt (or sand) and bithlo will make it fun. Its going to be my first ride since I broke my collarbone so maybe less is more. I heard about a track called Pax Trax and it seems to be about an hour away. Anyone been there? I used to go down and race and Orlando Speedworld, I wish it was still around. It used to have a badass supercross track back in the day.

Bithlo is Orlando Speed World. That is the name of the Dragstrip/Stock car portion of the facility. Not sure what they are calling the MX track these days, but when you pull into the place off of Highway 50, Speed World is the sign you see.

When I took my kids to Disney last year, I went riding at Thundercross - www.thundercrossmxpark.com

It's a fun track with safe jumps, but it's about a 2 hour drive from Orlando.

Just went to Thundercross during Thanksgiving weekend. Great facility, safe jumps and good dirt. If you can make the drive, I would definitely check it out

Pax is probably about an hour but i think it wold be worth the drive over Bithlo. Although it has been a few years since i have been over to Bithlo. If you decide to go over to Pax let me know when, i am heading down to see my parents and brother who live in Daytona from the 26th til the 1st and plan on heading over to Pax a couple times while i am there.

Omg, ok. It just looks totally different. The track used to have some pretty decent sized jumps.

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses and help with all the tracks. I appreciate it. Man, Bithlo (Speedworld to me, lol) looks alot different. I was looking at the videos and there are certain parts that look the same but the dirt is way more sandier than it was back in 1999-2001. I just remember it having really nice covered grandstands and rock music blaring so loud that you could hear it while you where riding. I have alot of memories there because it was the place where I did my first really big jump. It was two tabletops and there was a local pro that was jumping both the tables and I followed him over it. It was a pretty big jump, I probably wouldn't even do it today. Anyways, thanks for the help guys.

Eastbay is a really sweet track! Jumps are safe for all level riders, nothing too big but still really fun for faster guys. Has little bit of everything on the track (whoops tables doubles triples etc). Might be a little far from Orlando (2 hours roughly) but definitely worth every second. By far my favorite track in Florida, even over Stewarts house. If you go there give me a shout I'll probably be out there!

I remember the double tabletops, it was a fun leap for sure. Yes the track is a lot sandier than it was back then but the new layout is decent. There is a decent size jump in the middle. In fact, clearing the whole thing is probably close to that double table back then.

My fav track is still Pax.

Pax is a great track. If the moisture is right, the soil at that place is incredible. For some reason, the riding there gets pretty intense, even during open practice so be ready to trade plastic with people. Have fun and for the record, you are my hero for being able to pull off a ride day DURING a family vacation. I will live vicariously through you :-)

2X. Hardrock is just about 1.5 hours North of O-town but worth the trip. Lots of variety.
