I have a wife, two daughters, 4 cats and one small dog...all we need is a safe place where we can live in peace. We are all able to work a job and pay our dues....we just need a place we can call home and live in peace. I don't sleep good because I need to be ready for a potential home invasion. I think you are giving us a real life experience of what will happen in America if we don’t do something about it. The camels nose is already under the tent. 

Messaging particularly from a big bucks nation like the US has very powerful real world effects. All public comms at and near the top level/s should be taken extremely seriously. 

Sorry for my rant yesterday and yes, I was drinking beer to try cool down and relax but it did not help.

For the record. Our friends were black dudes. Really standup, hard working great guys. All they did was go home to Moz for the festive season.

Their village was attacked and now they are dead.

What does it take to actually get you and, your family stateside? 

There are plus minus 400 asylum applications  daily up in Johannesburg. The families are required to do full medicals and obviously there is the normal back ground checks.

My friend "C" and his family has started the process but it is a long slow process. The ANC are also getting involved and are interviewing families who want out. 

Geezuz Damien, we are stuck between a rock and a hard spot. What do I do with all my animals? I ain't putting them down. Does Trump pay for the relocation? Where are they sending the folk? Which state? 

Im to effing proud to arrive there destitute, homeless and having to rely on other folk.

The SA folk that have landed in the US arrived with nothing other than a few bags.

If I had the big bucks id apply for asylum and if granted I'd then pack all my stuff into a 40ft container and ship it across,then fly the animals across. ( i cant leave them) 

Its not easy with the exchange rate. The missus and myself, we are both 55 and we'd land in the states pretty much financial effed and then we'd have to try rebuild our lives.

We are confused, scared, anxious...damn I don't know bud..

One thing im certain of is that I need to get my two daughters out. If I die here then that's OK by me but my girls need to get out.

Sorry for your loss. You have a whole different perspective on this issue. We are pretty isolated from it here in USA, but I feel something is going to happen here soon. 

Bombing the shit out of Isis hives only pushes the problem back for a little bit. Nothing changes .The change has to come from within the Muslim community and I just don’t see it. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m yet to see any thing in the news or in  print were regular working class Muslims call out the radicalized  factions of their religion for terrorist activities , and strongly denounce it. I’d really love to see a battalion of Muslims ,from any country with boots on the ground fighting against the radicalized Muslim strongholds. Until that happens, I don’t think anything will change.
 It’s sad really.

Do you need a sponsor or, an employer saying they’ll vouch for you? My company has offices throughout the US but,  I can only speak in person, directly to the people that matter in Washington state. From HR to, the president. You can relocate to a state of your choosing down the line.

We are still trying to figure out how this asylum deal works. One friend has a friend that has a friend that's in the US through Trump's asylum program. We are hoping to get hold of him to find out what he went through. You know, a lot of folk will arrive in the US with no money, no work, no roof over their head...its a scary thought. Maybe the program offers temporary housing until folk can figure out work to get on their feet.

The thought of giving up everything here, personal effects gathered over the years..and then arriving in the US with nothing is scary....im getting anxious and nauseous just thinking about all the unknowns.

I don't know, that's why we are trying to get hold of the dude that is in the US through the asylum program. He certainly would be able to answer most of our questions.

The place where one applies for asylum is half way across the country from where I at so I can't even go there to get info.

I'm looking for a website / email address so that I can try and get more information.

I agree with you on this.ive got riding buddies that left SA with Mandela in office.our former leader Trudeau did the same thing here in Canada.now we pay for refugees to be house up to 2 yrs if they can’t find work immediately.

Hate to say at this point of your life I think you have to salvage what years you have left, you only have 30 summers left, maybe more?
