i hope he's in that front pack of riders dicing for a podium. 2011 is going to be an exciting year.

He will be better this year, with Shorty and Decoster the bike will be 100% better than last year. I don't think anyone has ever said Mikey was a good tester. with that being said tho, top 10 will be a good night for him IMO

I think he will do better this year too. I don't care for the guy, but I think with this new team, if he taps into the knowledge and doesn't let his stupid dad get in the way, he'll do fine.

If he was ever going to crack this championship nut, I wouldn't put money on it being this year. Unless the top 5 get wiped out with injuries.

Yes I believe he is. DeCoster called him back from the AUS sx series to start testing for the US rounds.

not really a big mikey fan either, but I agree that with the new personel and teamates it should help out tons. pro moto guys are all extreme head cases and IMO mike seems to need something to get his confidence back....he said his dad took a step back this year, that didnt work out so well. Maybe he needs Tony in his face sometimes. (somewhat joking)...& what eddy said, if he could ride AC"s gp bike that would help

How is that being better? top 10 LOL Alessi was running top3 outdoors a few years back. Alessi needs a new program and bike, IMO.

Because he has never been a great supercross rider, when did outdoors come up?

Indoors I doubt he will do anything. Outdoors if he is on a 450 he could be right back in there. Otherwise no holeshot = no win for him.

So his Twitter says everything is all rosy, eh? Did he not just race a bunch of Aussie SX and get smoked by 2nd tier talent? No holeshot-no win is right. I have no idea why they are putting him in the SX fire. If he gets some top 10's in SX, good on him. That might be a tall order though.

I wish him the best but think his career is on the down curve.
Decoster & him weren't the best at Suzuki.
Better at KTM?
I hope they prove me wrong in my thinking.

Alessi already had a great career. Titles are hard to win and Alessi let all the champs know that he was a close second.

Mikey is notdone but some others are.

But I won't name names

Remember Villopoto's first win at Seattle?
Who was the guy that held him off for almost half the race before crashing? Mike Alessi!

Absolutely, but a lot has happened since then, and not much of it is good.

Soo your saying he sucks?

His shoulders are soo bad that he cant go through whoops fast.

Anybody who can lead a supercross main event for even a lap is incredible.

Right now he is 5th-10th place Heat race guy. If he gets back to form from a few years ago and figures out his current holeshot problem, then he will be a 5th to 10th place Main guy. Even a possible podium if the planets align for him.

I mostly agree with this, except even if he got back to where he was a few years ago he wouldn't be a 5th-10th place SX main guy. That's sort of what he was then (actually several 11ths and a DNQ). With the influx of talent since then, he is just being pushed further and further back. I think the planets will need to align for him this year to get close to 10th place, in SX. He definitely is a 5th-10th heat race guy as of now.

I think Alessi is a 7th-12th place SX guy right now but I hope he finishes up in the top 5.
