Looking for some ride reviews of the 2025 TC300 smoker from Husky. Surprisingly, I haven’t found any decent info on the interwebs.

I’m an old vet rider who rides outdoor moto style tracks exclusively. Rode 2 strokes until the 98 YZ400 came out and I’ve been 4 strokin every since with the exception of a couple 125’s

My main concerns are is the powerband “more 4 stroke like” as I’ve read about the KTM? Also, is the suspension and chassis pretty good like the ‘25 Husky four strokes?

People call them a 3 stroke and for good reason.  No the power is not like a yz250. It’s smooth, luggable power with a linear delivery.  Really rideable.  Really friendly and also very powerful.  Best bike I’ve ever ridden or owned but I’m a 2 stroke guy and have not owned a modern 4 stroke for almost 20 years.

The chassis is virtually the same as the 4 stroke line up and nearly all chassis parts are interchangeable so yes they feel the same

The TBI powerband is definitely smoother.  To me it just feels slow, like I am waiting for it to do something.  Listen to the sound difference compared to a YZ250.

I ride all kinds of different bikes, 125, 250, 300 and 350….love them all… on my 2nd TBI 300SX. Like any bike they need some set up to reach their potential… Gearing and a remap turns the current 300”s into masterful weapons….. but you have to want to be a 2T guy….I see guys give up way to early on these bikes, full commitment required….stock, they hit hard and sign off early, the remap lets them pull forever on top…what I also like about the 300 is, the easy transition to woods/ hare scramble setup….map2 for smoother power, switch pipe to Gnarly, bark busters and XC tank and you have a great Gncc/ Enduro mount….

My 24 300 sx is 100% stock and unbelievably easy to ride.  Its fast yet docile when need be. I have a 24 250 xc as well.  Its slow. plain and simple.

I have a 300XC TBI and its truly an amazing machine, you can ride it aggressively like a normal two stroke and its extremely fast and you can ride it a gear higher and still be really fast but lean on the torque more than the horsepower and its also awesome.

Just buy a XC, TX or EX, you get the new spring forks and if you really hate the slightly bigger clear tank you can buy a SX tank for $120. Engine/mapping is identical and you get the 6 speed transmission that's perfect for this bike.

We have found that the RK Tek heads work really well on the 300’s.

What gearing do you recommend for Moto? I went to a 50T rear and wasn't super happy but only have one ride on that combo. Also considering remapping, any recs?

I started getting out of racing about 5 years ago, and now I hit the track probably half a dozen times in a season. I got hooked on the XC/ hard enduro stuff. New challenge, no drama, out in nature = awesome time... Plus I'm getting old lol. I have a 24 TE300 now and my god, is it a good bike out in the woods. I can't believe I used to ride an MX 450 in the woods, my average speed on single track type stuff immediately went up by 5-6 mph over a 3 hour ride. I am faster on it, and I don't get tired anymore, so i'm not stopping. not to mention, if I can see a path up a climb, the thing is a billy goat. You can putt up very steep gnarly stuff in first gear, no feathering clutch, moving slower than walking speed.

On the track, there is definitely things I would change. It's soft, its very forgiving and doesn't have that "edge" out of the corners (mostly due to a 6 speed gear box with low gearing). But it'll go around a track for sure.

If you ride more woods get the TE/XC and maybe mod a bit for moto. If you ride more moto, get the TC/SX and maybe mod a bit for woods riding, if you need too. They are great bikes.

I also use a 50t….making 3rd gear my main gear. A remap may change your gearing selection…after my WMR remap I could probably go to a 49 rear for intermediate/ hardpack…I am in deep sand most of the time so the 50 still works for me…WMR, TPi tuning and Twisted will all be an improvement over stock….mostly for the much improved overrev….

Interesting.  I rode a 300 back to back with a 250, both xc models.  They were very close in power and both very fast machines.

I think you meant TX/XC and not TE/XC. TX=XC(woods & moto) and TE=XCW(trail, woods, hard enduro).

I'm a 500cc guy so a 300 2t modern bike was the clear choice. I heard Huski was making a 300TC so sign me up! I love the power but 3rd gear in corners wasn't happening for me. I went to a 49, remapped ECU and that solved the problem. I think the power hits damn hard. Comparing the TC or SX to an XC etc is very different. I added a Bud's carbon fiber silencer for a little more bark. I'm a big guy height and weight. The air forks was a no go for me. Constantly having to add pressure and didn't feel smooth so I went with a Dal Saggio Sphere 3 cartridge spring conversion and added a rear bladder......its like butter. The moment you sit on it everything is smooth. Not jerky like the air. Again, if your in the normal weight range they may be fine.

I really want to pull the trigger on a 300sx/tc, but the air forks are my hang up. Im a heavier guy as well and I will need a revalve either way. I thought about the XC version to get the spring forks, but im strictly moto with occasional woods ride in the snowy winter. I already have a 22 350sxf w/6500's with a rep revalve, so i know what i would gain by going that route, but its so much money after its all said and done. Even finding another set of forks or conevales and then revalving them is still the same amount of money.

I rode 150, 250 and 300 xc demo bikes last month. 300 hands down was my favorite. Nimble and tractor like power.

Why not swap your dialed forks to the new bike?

I was just about to type this….I swap forks on my bikes all the time…takes about 15 minutes. 10 if you have spare forks guards already bolted up to each set of forks….when I know I will use my 300SX in the woods for an extended period of time, I swap forks & pipe and if I plan to race woods I install the XC tank & bark busters…but I enjoy being in my garage working on bikes and listening to tunes….

Yes that was a thought already and was my initial plan. It doesnt help me when I want ride both bikes back to back like i normally do now with my 350 and 450. Its just so much easier swapping in springs on spring forks and making it work until your ready for a revalve vs chasing air pressures all day knowing in your mind that you dont like the feel and that you wish you had spring forks🤣🤣🤣.

The new forks are amazing. Just buy an XC you can put a SX tank on it for $120 if you really hate the clear tank.

Unless you are A+ level I highly doubt you will notice the 18" rear tire, its actually beneficial for a lot of reasons.
