Lucky you don't need surgery...

I snapped my left humorous years back in an AX.
Bones came out the skin in 2 places.
Six hours in surgery ,8inch steel-plate,8 screws,1 week in the hospital.
Took a year before it was normal again.

Get healed up man!

If you dislocated your shoulder you probably need a MRI to determine the extent of the damage to the labrum. Did the doc say anything a about that???

Glad to hear you don't require surgery. Now quick, delete this thread before it turns into another health care reform debate.

I snapped my right humerous dead nuts in the middle at Perris in '99 when a douche bag cut me off in the air over V.P. leap and it took 3 months with no surgery to heal. No problems whatsoever now, but I have one helluva knot of bone in the middle of my arm.

Did you get the plate taken out, once it was fully healed?

I had had mine taken out 9months after it was put in, due to the risk of breaking it again with the plate in there.
After it was taken out,it took about 3 months til I could start riding again. Doesn't really bother me,but even after all these years it still feels a bit tender & weaker then my right arm does.

Definately, if it pops out again ill need surgery.

THE BEST PART
! when the cute "new" learning doctor was in the room she had me take my shirt off Wink and she was trying to get my to lift up my arm on my own hahaha and I kept leaning my body to the side and she was getting so annoyed, also she kept having me flip my hands over with them straight out and I had my phone in my hand and after 2-3 times she said "gimme that!!" and snatched my phone out of my hand hahaha.

Dont take the possible nerve damage lightly either. When my son was 11 he took a spill but got up and brushed himself off and we thought he was ok, just a little banged up. The next day I asked him how he felt and he said "fine, my shoulder is just a little numb". He is tough as nails and never said anymore about it. A couple months later he was facing away from me with his shirt off and I noticed his left shoulder looked a little different than his right. When I said something he was like ya it's still a little numb. We went to the Dr and they did the nerve test and within a week we were in surgury with a nerve specialist to repair the damage. The impact had killed some of the nerves that send signal to the muscles in the shoulder and they deteriorated. He is almost 18 now and muscled up but his left shoulder still looks smaller and weaker than the right.

If anything doesn't feel right, dont just assume it will be ok.

I like how you could put "Dear diary" in front of most of Devin's thread titles and it makes perfect sense.

Nerve damage sucks, sorry to hear that.

Good ol' VP Leap.......I had a pretty bad break right in the middle of mine too and it healed with a little bit of a curve to it, noticeable enough just by looking at it.

Oh, and for the record, it's spelled humerus, not humerous.
