F1 2025

I'm rooting for Lando but i don't trust Max at all. It's a street circuit, even with the two DRS zones there will be opportunities for him to try and bunch them up.

What else can he do?

Geezuz....here's me thinking the race starts at 19h00 my time.

Just finished the Sunday afternoon lunch and I check out BBC news...the first thing I see is that "_____" won the world championship. We Missed the whole damn race.☹️

O well....

Max probably would have but they had to wait until after stops to try it and by the time that happened the gaps were too big. Tsunoda did his best to help but in the end, as a true race for the title it fizzled out.

All three would have been deserving winners, but Lando has done everything he needed to since mid-season in a car that was class of the field for long enough to seal it up. I’ve known Lando since he was 16, and while he can be a dick at times (as they all can be) he’s aimed his whole life at this moment so hope he enjoys it!

Only have to wait until mid-January now to find out who’s early leaders for 2026…

When do we get the “Hamilton leaving Ferrari PR”?

I mean, damn, he can’t find a reason to smile when he’s in that car. Are we gonna get Lil’Lec in the 2nd Red Car? Does Lewis go Somehwere-else? Spend a year as the development driver of the new car and come back on form for some other team? Does he pull an Alonso?

I dunno, but, that dude sure seems VERY unhappy.

He underestimated the challenges Ferrari have and thought the car would be better than it was this year that’s for sure, and by his own standards hasn’t hit the marks he expects of himself.

That said, he will be there next year unless he thinks the 2026 car is also a dog (possible). If he does retire, the replacement in the wings is Bearman with younger LeClerc going to Haas.

Bearman is inline to replace him in '27.

I've never understood the hype around Ferrari. Like, I get it, they're the only team to have raced in every F1 season, but they it seems like they're drivers are always miserable and the team doesn't listen. Add to that that they literally leveraged their popularity to get a bigger slice of the pie than any other team, and can unilaterally ban any technology development they don't like (or at least, used to), and to me they just come across as incompetent villains.

My favorite sidenote is that the year BrawnGP won the world championship with Ferrari engines, the team manager at Ferrari said he did everything he could to keep the higher-ups at Ferrari distracted so they wouldn't stick their nose in BrawnGP and fuck up their chase for the title.

Damn, I should have known that, too, since they literally became the Mercedes team. I don't even remember where I heard that story. Shouldn't have trusted my memory with that one.

Well that was an anti climatic finish. Just as boring  as 90% of other races.

Re-Gen braking is gonna be very interesting. Depending on how much computer assistance they’re allowed, the over all braking can be greatly enhanced  “re-gen braking”….IF…that’s “if” they’re allowed a really bad ass re-gen clutching system with computer assisted management…that’s gonna require some reading…if the info is even avail…?

Another thing: all the Caddy pics I’ve seen have the car SCREAMING “Cadillac” and virtually nothing-else…no title sponsors taking up the side pods like all the other cars. Takes me back to RED Ferraris with little more than the prancing horse on them…I’m wondering if that car stays that clean…? The Cadillac, that is.

If you're into all the engineering, I highly recommend this site - https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=1

There's a few current F1 engineers post there and a few ex-F1 engineers as well and they go into a pretty deep level of detail.
