No pictures yet......it was delivered today...........it is sweet in that if it has more than a few hours on it I will be real surprised.

The tank looks like it came off the show room floor.

Who's bike is/was that? '79 looking tank but I'd wager it's aluminum? And the head stay? Thanks for the shot!

The 78 models are my favorite old KX's. Sleek looking bikes. Pretty rare too, the collectibility factor has been going up on those.

That is a 1978 works bike. #19 was Mickey Boone.

I was at a night race once back in '79. A guy had his '78 A4 250 hooked to the side of his El Camino with a tie down strap, using it as a way to hold up the bike between moto's.

He must have been late on his truck payment, as a repo guy showed up, hopped in his El Camino, and started hauling ass out of the pits, dragging the A4 behind him on the tie down at about 25 MPH.

If I recall, Kawasaki only brought about 1500 of them to the states for '78. You hardly ever see one, the 125 is even more scarce for that year.

Holy Crap Project Racer !!!

I was at Eagles that night too.
But I thought it was a Ranchero (ford el camino).
I remember one repo guy was driving and the other was in the
back pitching out milk crates and gear as they hauled ass through the pits.

Were you there the night the power pole broke off and the lights all went out
in the middle of the 175 class race ?

BVS, I vaguely remember the light pole deal. I thought it was a '78 or '79 El Camino ( Cabalerro) torturing the poor KX. It was Jim Bernard's bike. I think he was a Kawasaki of Brandon customer. The A4 250 was also the bike Randy Yoho was on when he crashed at Dade and nearly bit his tongue in half. The pipe burned him badly across the chest ,also, if I recall. Randy had a '78 125 and 250 KX from the Brandon dealership on a shop ride deal,if memory serves.

I saw an A4 250 come up on craigslist in Tampa a while back. Rough, and a little incomplete. $250. It was gone within a few hours of posting. The guy didn't even know what he had,as it was listed as a '79. The tank alone was worth the price of the bike.

The A4 that my buddy got was.........only.........$400.00 yes only $400. Csot more to ship. No pictures yet, but trust em...if this bike as more than a few hours on it, I need a new hobby/passion. Bike has never been raced or even had numbers on it. The plastic is discolored, but other than that, when it gets cleaned up and in a pretty dress it will be the queen of the prom.
