NASCAR Monopoly lawsuit

I might be off on what his point was, but I think there's evidence to the contrary. COTA was just built a little over 10 years ago during the peak of the development boom in Austin. The city sees it as a huge attraction and benefits dramatically from it economically. F1 is bigger than ever. So, there is demand for racing. And tracks are economically viable. NASCAR is just missing somehow. 

In my opinion, it has become too vanilla. I tried watching the NASCAR version of Drive to Survive on Netflix and the drivers were so damn boring. The only one that was slightly interesting was Denny Hamlin. No matter what they say, people want drivers to be arrogant, cocky, glamorous and larger than life. Seeing Lewis Hamilton flying around in his self-branded jet or Verstappen making some smartass remark to a journalis  and not giving a shit is what gets the masses to tune in. NASCAR used to give us the Rednecks with Paychecks version of that. Now these guys just seem scared to say anything wrong.

Even the cars suck. You watch the 90s clips and the cars are all over the place. You can see the driver working the car. Now they look cemented to the ground. It's boring as hell. 

It's crazy that a guy like me will watch hrs of sprint cars or Hunt the Front on YouTube, but won't spend half a second watching anything NASCAR. Its not that I have abything against. I gre up on it. I want to like it. I am prime audience, but it's just boring as shit.

its reported that 23XI and Front row  get their charters back, and that all charters to become evergreen with the other teams having to agree on the wording,   financial settlement to be private, 

i wonder what this does for the price of charters,  as they were stupid high anyway,  

for me, it will be interesting to see if Indycar goes through with thier charter system now,  and not that it was ever really on the table, but i doubt SMX will be doing a charter type deal with the teams in mx any time soon

MX/SX are a straight up monopoly. Just ask DC about his jealously guarded fiefdom! 

With charters now being evergreen i would say the price of them just doubled 

The scenario that the suit was aimed at would he more applicable to WSX or MXGP......

......if they were somehow beholden to the American legal system.  

Both of those series effectively have 'charters' of a sort, even if they are not called that specifically.  If the AMA sanctioned SX/MX series were to start charging teams and limiting the participation to only those teams who were contracted (unless otherwise allowed by the promoter such as the wild card riders), then this would have a lot more relevance to them.

NASCAR owes the teams...$360,000,000. NASCAR may be in trouble. 

Pretty sure that’s just for the two plaintiff teams, 23XI and Front Row.  Everybody’s going to be okay, including NASCAR.

The lawsuit is settled. The teams get permanent charters etc., the financial portion of the settlement is confidential.

The title had me thinking it was a lawsuit over the board game..
