 I thought it was funny in a sardonic way. And to be fair the American Government who made up the days in the first place I am absolutely certain has zero human decency. I give the moral high ground to bosswool. And truth be told they’re fucking national parks. Which means they belong to us, the citizens. They should be open and free every day! If the government wasn’t such a criminal organization they would have plenty enough money from our taxes to not have to charge us again an entry fee to staff and maintain the parks.

"The fee for foreigners to purchase an annual park pass, which allows entry into all national parks across the United States, will increase from $80 US to $250. Fees for American citizens and permanent residents will remain at $80.

If a Canadian family of four, with two children aged 16 years or older, did not purchase an annual pass, a trip to Acadia would cost $435 US — $100 per person plus $35 for the vehicle full of people — which comes to just over $600 when converted to Canadian dollars."

It makes you wonder, what is the actual tax rate? If you took the federal rate and added the average state tax rate, all toll/roads/fuel tax, booze tax, property tax, registration fees, additional fees for the various services that are only partially funded by existing taxes, etc., etc., etc., what would the effective total tax rate come out to in a single percentage? Aaaaaaand...what would that number be if we added in enough to cover the federal spending deficit? (about $5150/yr more just to cover the latter)

Anyone watch the David Schweikert clips that popup on Youtube? The most eye opening part, if accurate, is that people born today will need to be taxed at 104% of their wages during their working life in order to fund the services for those using them. Meaning, the government could take every single penny they earn for their entire lives and there would still be a 4% shortfall.
