I'm no doctor and I know nothing about spinal cord injuries but I feel pretty encouraged with his progress he's been sharing. Am I wrong or is he making gains that many thought would be unlikely at best?

Same here.

Very inspiring to see his positive attitude and work ethic. Seeing this type of positivity and “challenge accepted” attitude from someone in his situation is also a great way to make me take stock about whether or not I should be whining about some of my day to day challenges…

You’re not wrong. The Drs don’t know what any of us will get back though. There’s no SCI injuries that’s the same as another. I’m glad to see him doing so well and I’ve been a fan of his since I saw him racing the 80s CR at LL

I broke my C 5/6 20 years ago roadracing and never lost feeling in my body. My dad actually came onto the track and grabbed my feet and I could feel it. I regained some movement on my right side and worked on walking again for 2 years but got tired of dealing with my insurance company and said f it.

Having a positive attitude is a huge factor in recovery too  I was willing to grind and do anything the therapist wanted. Especially since the Dr told me I’d live in a nursing home or with family, so I set off to prove him wrong and be independent

My wife told me just yesterday, that Dr’s are practicing…meaning they are still learning.
Keep on going Jerry.

It’s wild the amount of support JR77 has gotten it just speaks volumes to his character. And it’s nice to see our community all help out. I’ve been following him as I’ve been in a similar situation and it’s very tough. He has what looks to be the best team around him and he looks to be giving this everything he’s got physically and mentally. Looks like things are starting to pay off and hope he keeps on keeping on and miracles happen.

As a Minnesotan, I gotta say FXR are a bunch of really great people.  They have a practice track that they open up to the public once in awhile and they’re so solid.  I love that.

Jerry is still super active online and I see him following moto and engaging a ton which is so cool to see.  I’m glad he’s still in the sport and being so positive.  I respect his strength so much
