Couple of the 450 RX test mention vibration. Even read about it on Facebook posts. One would think a modern 4 stroke vibrate wouldn’t be an issue. I kicked around getting a 450 RX but the vibration could be an issue. 25 Honda may be a better fit anyway, I’m not really a 450 guy but I like my 300 RX and we have a good Beta dealer in the Houston area.
I’m vibration sensitive in my right hand really bad and doctor said not much can be done with it. Too many years of power tools and hammers back in my blue collar days. Had nerve tunnel surgery on left elbow and wrist a few years back.
I’d guess some of the quirks on the 24 450 RX like small battery etc have been fixed for 25, my guess vibration hasn’t.
Anybody got the skinny on vibration with 450 RX. How bad is it, bet someone has spent some time on one. Thought I’d post here before I bother Kris Keefer. Seems I recall he mentioned it while testing.
This is one of the downsides of stock for stock reviews and tests is there’s a lot of personal preference things that can be easily replaced/swapped on bikes that don’t come with them, that will hurt them compared to a bike that does have them. I specifically remember Keefer complaining about the grips and bars during his “first ride review.” Could be bars and grips playing a solid role in that complaint
As mentioned in the tests it's not Yamaha 450 smooth, but I added Luxon 4 post isolated bar mounts, and Fatbars with Renthal comfy grips and it's on par with the Honda or Kawi. Those changes actually helped with some of the harshness some of the testers mentioned, but the forks are still not great in stock trim. I found a setting that isn't terrible, but still going out for a full rework in the next couple weeks. It's hot as balls so no riding for a while anyways.
Oh, the bike is light years better at cornering with a set of MX34's. Those maxxis tires are absolute garbage.
It’s apparent after 2 beers on the forth of July I can’t spell……….never been one of strong points. Oh well, I do need to hoe some weeds in my flower beds but it’s 97 with a Heat index of 107 here in cool Southeast Texas.
On a serious note. Anti-vibration bar mounts can make a difference. I can’t say I knocked all the vibration on my 300 RX with Luxon bar mounts but it helped. I’m still running stock Beta grips and bars. ProTaper pillows like I have on my Honda may help a little too.
When you lay money down on a Beta it’s a couple of grand north of a Jap bike, more inline with Austrian. A guy wants to make sure it’s good money. I’ve never fully warmed up to my 23 Honda. Got it better then stock but it’s a 23 Honda. Next 4 stroke for 2025 I buy want to get it right, Beta, Honda whatever. Doesn’t cost much to read, post and ask question.

Any Beta 450rx owners ever really figure out how to dampen vibration. I put on fat bars, new grips and rubber bar mounts. But I still feel like this bike vibrates much more than other 450's. Any input is appreciated.

Never ridden a 450 RX, biit do have. 300 RX. I can’t say how much it vibrates. I’ll say this but maybe just me, but my KX450 seems to vibrate more than my Beta 300 RX. But maybe that’s just me.
If a Beta 450 RX vibrates more than my 24 KX 450 I’d be surprised. With that said a KX 450 is a solid ride. Dirt bikes vibrates, it’s fact.
I only notice vibration while it's on the stand. It's not terrible, similar to a YZ250.
While riding I dont notice the vibration at all.
Im using the non-rubber bar mounts, glue on grips, and aluminum throttle tube.
are your motor mounts tight?
As 3strokemx mentioned, double check your engine mounts/bolts, all of them! The top bracket bolts come loose easily and even slightly loose makes the vibration noticeably worse. I have a 2024 kx450 as well, and I think it vibrates more than my Beta 450. I have the xtrig rubber bar mounts and Phoenix bars with stock grips, and I don't notice vibration much at all. Vibration is similar to KTM group bikes, possibly a bit better than my 350 sxf and 450 rockstar edition. AJ Catanzaro rode my Beta and made a comment that he felt "none" when someone asked him about vibration (FWIW). Because the engine mount bolts loosen up so easily, I have a suspicion that this is causing a lot of the vibration complaints. Loctite and being diligent with checking the bolts after every few rides is critical. I have a lot of bikes, and the Beta is a great bike and a viable option once the suspension is dialed in. I'm looking forward to racing it next year.
They are, I am very diligent on checking them since I lost one completely and had another loose within the first 4 hours. I learned my lesson there.
I added copper crush washers between the engine and the frame on the 2 lower motor mount bolts, havent come loose since (50+ hours).
Another thing you should check is cleaning the stepper motor. Could cause rough running condition leading to excess vibration. It's easy to access, remove the tank and there is 1 plug and 2 philips head screws.
My stepper motor was full of gunk, took me a while to track down the problem, it wanted to flame out after an hour or so of riding. The pluger rod in the stepper motor was bent from the factory. Dealer gave me a new stepper motor assembly and I noticed the engine ran smoother along with no more flane outs.
Honest question, why do you think it's getting gunked up? I only ask as at 25 hours mine is still clean as can be last time I opened it up and checked it. And yes, red loctite and proper torque on the engine mounts. Mine haven't come loose since I did that.
How many damn bikes you got? I have 1 and my girlfriend scowls at me if I even think about getting a second bike.
🤣 Well, I probably need a therapist on speed dial, because I clearly have a problem...I currently have 19 bikes in the garage. And I just built a big carport so I could move my autocross car out of the garage...making room for more bikes 😆.
I haven't sucked anything passed the air filter, so I thought possibly it was blow back from the cylinder due to poor fuel air mixture caused by the defective stepper motor.
The only other point of ingress would be where the stepper motor unit screws together, so I replaced the o-ring and used RTV silicone to seal the mating surfaces.
