You are right, but my hope is that RD can change Austria's mind. I have seen Mike ride both the 350 & 450 on the same track right after each other and dropped 3-5 sec. a lap. He is not a guy who rides a bike at 12-15,000 RPM like the 350 needs to be ridden. He is a 6-8000 RPM power rider. He needs to be on the 450. Bottom line.
Cairoli even said something similar in an interview about a month ago.

3 to 5 sec. a lap huh? Highly doubtful. Mike will be OK. With a change around in his mental attitude he'll be a contender. Yes, a contender. He did OK in SX a couple years ago and he'll do OK in SX this year. Top 5 is not out of the question. MX, top 3 with a chance of winning. On the 350 no less. I can't believe people are still doubting the 350. Did ANYONE see Carolis results this year? The 350 is a great bike and KTM knows what they are doing. Especially with RD at the helm. IF he were 3 to 5 sec. a lap faster on the 450 (which I highly doubt) I'm sure KTM would put him on it. No doubt. He's not, so they won't. The 350 was designed to be a more effective SX weapon and I'm quite confident it is. BTW, did anyone see Carolis results this year? Anyone?

I feel bad for the guy, you know he works his ass off and has plenty of heart. Hope he gets it together this year and has some better results.

I'm shocked that he will be at SX in 2011.

More shocked that ANYONE thinks he will do anything in SX. He was never any good at SX, even on the Suz 450 with a less competitive field. More than once he will not qualify. Still, this will be just one more guy to make the LCQ's some sick racing this coming year.

Mathes will bet his left testicle that Caroli's "350" isn't a 350. And he is a former factory mechanic.

Didn't they offer Matthes a teardown after MXdN??

Maybe I really DON'T remember that happening, 'cause we never heard anything else about it.

bullshit...mike was doing fine and had sx dialed sans the whoops. if he was still on team suzy he'd be way ahead of the game at this point, instead he has gone backwards.

weren't you watching the sx series he was racing a couple of years ago?

Not exactly the same over here because of the production rule.

that's my point cairoli's 350 is works but he is racing against works 450's so i think the cairoli's bike is works that's why he wins on it argument is irrelevent

A teardown isn't worth anything unless it's done right after the race before the bike has gone back into the team's possession. They offered it a few days after the race was over.

Does a Euro Works 450 really make any more power than an American factory 450? I would hazard a guess at no.

Does a Euro Works 350 (390??) make more power than an American Factory 350? i would hazard a guess at yes

If both of my hazardous guess's are correct, which is really only speculation, then the Euro works 350 is closer in performance, when compared to the American factory 350 - when put up against each regoins respective 450's

Im no mechanic but, from a technical standpoint, is it really that difficult to bolt a fuel injection system onto the 450? because from what i've heard, a carburetted 450 is dangerous on a Supercross track and may be much of the reason why it isnt being considered.

Mike will be on or near the podium every weekend if he rides a 450 outdoors next year.

Seattle... 2009. Alessi holeshot and led the first 8 laps before having his front end wash out with RV in tow. Just sayin. Seattle is more like Daytona and Toronto though.

And Honda Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki dont.

I keep seeing this argument but it makes no sense.

KTM are then the others are to,

so they are winning on equivalent level bikes

The bigfella is spot on the money. Those that have seen him race down here will tell you he has gone backwards and not just a little bit, a lot. The speed he is going now, i would highly doubt he will make a main in the US unless there is a dramatic improvement.

His confidence has to be shot, he is getting towelled up by guys a couple years ago he wouldnt have had a problem with, it is actually sad to see.

Hopefully Roger can weave some magic, he is going to need to.
Agreed. Anyone check his results from Dunedin? It was muddy but come on, it's not like it was his first mud race. I hope he gets back to the top but he has a muddy hill to climb.
