I don't even know what to say to that. I guess my OPINION is wrong, completely absurd, and way out of line.

8,20,4,7,11,17,6,1,2. Do you have any idea how much work, talent, luck ect. you need to achieve that in AMA supercross? You do understand that he was one of handful who got a win last year! As BobbyM says -afuckinmazing!

I didn't say he wasn't talented or wasn't fast. All i said was he struggled last year and was going to struggle this year, but since I'm new and have only posted a hand full of times I'm an idiot that has no understanding of racing motorcycles.

Hansen has just continued to silence the haters throughout the past year. Of course, he did have that slip-up in that interview with Racer X a couple of weeks ago http://www.racerxonline.com/article/5-minutes-with-josh-hansen102910.as…. I know it's been said several times already, but that was fucking horrible. It made Jake Weimer's interview that I posted from Transworld http://brotocross.blogspot.com/2010/10/you-know-jake-weimer.html look like a debate answer from that guy in Thank You For Smoking. I'm sure he heard this a lot, but Hanny, don't say "shit" or "fuck" in your answers in an interview. It's like calling a cop "dude"; it's just a verbal transaction from which no one involved will benefit. You get paid a lot of money to represent people well. With pretty much every answer of Hansen's that I read, I heard the voice of the principal from Billy Madison throwing in his words of wisdom:"

I don't even know what to say to that. I guess my OPINION is wrong, completely absurd, and way out of line.
It is. The guy WON an AMA Supercross. Won it. Beat every other person on the gate. So by your stupid logic every other racer who didn't win more than one race last year shouldn't get a ride. Do I need to list every factory rider that won 1 or no SX's last year and you can bitch about it and say they don't deserve a ride? Or are you gonna admit you're just jealous that he's living the life you dreamed of as a kid and you decided for whatever reason you don't like him?

This website seriously bums me out sometimes. People ddecide they don't like the top riders in our sport and they don't even really know them! I generally reserve my judgement for people until I meet them and interact with them. Makes life a little more enjoyable. You should be embarassed to call yourself a "fan" of the sport.

Dude, this is not a place to come and BASH professional racers - as some people think it is. Yes, you are out of line, but you are new here so you might want to chill out and try not to make a shitty name for yourself right off the bat. Guys like you don't last too long around here.

I've never heard of this BROtocross before. Clearly, there's history there. In future, I'll endeavour to be more selective about what I cut'n'paste.
I think it is fine that you post it. People post everything here, from racerx, twmx, other blogs, pulp, etc. I see no reason why you should not post yet another opinion piece here. Gibbie is all in a bunch over this guys stuff and i am not sure why, yes he is hard on teh riders, maybe sometimes too hard but it is his opinion nothing more. Probably not carving out a place in the niche media of this sport, but I doubt he cares that much.

You know, the purpose of a forum is to host discussion. In the course of discussion, you are going to have people with differing opinions. There's no need to get bummed out about things you read on this forum or any other forum for that matter. If it really affects you that much, perhaps you should step away and find other interests that are more pleasing to your soul. Otherwise, harden the fuck up and stop whining.

I understand there's idiots out there that are going to talk bad about people they don't know, but it bums me out to see so many negative opinions about our top riders. It seems that in almost any thread involving any rider it's 50/50 split of good and negative about a rider. No matter who it is, there's a group of ignorant twats badmouthing riders for who they "think" they "might" be as a person, and many even doubt their skills as a rider. It's sad that MX is filled with negative and jealous people and those are the "fans" of the sport

Ok, Maybe I was out of line with "give the ride to someone who deserves it." I take it back, but I don't think he will win the title this year.

Even if he wins 1 race, that's more than 99.999% of others that have held an AMA pro card and it should be appluaded.

I raced from 3 years old, worked my ass off, and hundreds of thousands of dollars (maybe millions) were spent on me over the years and I couldn't even come close to making a main event. These guys have freakish talent and work ethics and drive that would make your head spin. Why is it so hard to respect them?

No need to take it back, you can have a ton of respect for a guy and not think he deserves a ride. i admire every pro for the things they can do (and I can't do), but I can also have an opinion on who deserves a ride. Mitch likes to win, that is it, he doesn't like to get 20th. I admire hansen if he is getting his life turned around, but after those results last year, the fact that he has been in the lites class since the dawn of time, and the fact that there are better guys without a ride would make me say the same thing. give it to someone else, hansen should have proved enough last year to get a ride in the 450s.

here is one thing people forget about teams and riders, and this is a perfect example.

"He went 8,20,4,7,11,17,6,1,2. "

now, to us forum guys, you would look at that and go my god, what a pile for results, he should apply at del taco and do us all a favor so a more deserving rider could get a ride, a rider that deserves it. alot think that. well, here is reality....

see those last 2 numbers? especially the 1, do you guys actually have any idea how RARE that is? Go look. You dont see that many guys in the last 10 years in that class with a 1. Just the fact he can get that 1 makes him a strong candidate for a top level ride. Look at all the guys, the future stars, in the last 10 years... and they dont have a 1 for a result. That fact alone, is called job security.

laugh, think I'm crazy, whatever, that is reality. You think Monster hooks him up just because? hell no. you think Mitch, no matter who is paying the bills, hooks someone up, just because, for sure hell no! Want more examples of it, Millsaps. people scream about him, and how can he possibly have this, or that..... because he can win flat out in a class that has literally only had what, 10 or 11 guys win a race since 2000. Off the top of my head, MC, RC, Windham, DV, Reed, JS, RV, RD, Grant, wait Hill won 1... Millsaps has how many wins? 3~4? in the last 2 seasons, makes him highly higherable. Also, whats REAL telling, look at that list. .... RV and RD last year. Just those 2, thats 20% of that list in the last year, add in Grant and Hill, 40% in the last 2 years. Add in Millsaps wins, thats almost 50% of the wins, in the last decade that came in the last 2 years! And that was when JS and Reed both werent there at the same time!

The pictures are funny. The phrase stopped being funny about 1 billion uses ago. But by all means funny boy, when you are at a complete loss for words and have absolutely nothing relevant to offer let it rip:

When Josh is on...he is on!
When he is off ,he is off.

Honestly, I have pulled for the guy since he rode for KTM and every year since then.
I'm hoping these races down in OZ have helped him and will get him mentally right for racing.Seems like last season he had the speed & starts, but big mistakes ruined his chances.
Hopefully he has a solid season and he is in the championship running come Vegas.

Just don't be surprised if he does win it.
I wont be. Wink

Anyone who was in Vegas in May for the shootout saw how fast this guy really is.

Fourth to second in the closing laps against those slow team mates of his (DW & CP) was something to behold.

His ride in NZ last week in the rain was very impressive for a SoCal blue-groove specialist.

That actually made me laugh out loud. Seriously, People are saying these things about Hansen but at least he's out there winning a championship at a professional level. I bet most people who hate on him have never even won their beginner class at their local track.

When I said too bad it's Australia I mean it's not an American Supercross Championship.
I never said there was no fast guys to ever come out of Australia. Last time I checked, it was a foreign mxer's dream to come to the US and ride.
I respect all of these guys that race at this level. Its amazing to watch and unbelievable what they can do on a motorcycle. Like Windam jumping that quad at Indy a couple of years ago, or the very first national that I went to. Stewart riding a 125. Watching RC jump the "RC" double at High Point. Watching Larocco in 04 pull the holeshot and win in Indy. MXON at Budds Creek. Just some of the jumps that they do period. This is probably the most amazing sport in the world in my opinion. This years supercross season in going to be amazing. I hope its a close season and we see everyone healthy in Vegas.
11/25/2010 6:51pm
All the haters seem to have the opinion that there are faster, more deserving riders out there without a ride next season. Which of those riders, who won a race last season, could you be referring to?
