Rain should be over by 10 a.m., today. After that it’s cloudy skies today & Saturday(Race coverage begins at 7:55 p.m. on ESPNHD)…& sunny skies on Sunday…for those that happen to be goin’ riding in the L.V. area on Sunday 👍🏼Some of us might be doin’ some off-roading in the area (in the Bronco in my case).

You definitely want to be the second person called into Zak's office tomorrow, someone's getting a promotion.

McLaren trying their best to throw the driver championship away. Letting Max lurk around is a bad idea

Both McLaren's disqualified for excessive plank wear !!!

Not surprising. At one point piastri's car was shooting out so much sparks, that I thought he had broken his suspension.

Andrea Stella statement on double McLaren disqualification

"Following the Las Vegas Grand Prix, we were found in breach of Article 3.5.9 of the Technical Regulations, which requires a minimum of 9mm skid thickness.

"Car 4 was found in breach by a maximum of 0.12mm of the rearmost skid and Car 81 by a maximum of 0.26mm of the rearmost skid.

"During the race, both cars experienced unexpected, high levels of porpoising not seen in the Practice sessions, which led to excessive contact with the ground. We are investigating the reasons for this behaviour of the car, including the effect of accidental damage sustained by both cars, which we found after the race, and that led to an increase of movement of the floor.

"As the FIA noted, the breach was unintentional, there was no deliberate attempt to circumvent the regulations, and mitigating circumstances also existed.

"We apologise to Lando and Oscar for the loss of points today, at a critical time in their Championship campaigns after two strong performances from them all weekend. As a team, we also apologise to our partners and fans, whose support means so much.

"While this outcome is extremely disappointing, we remain fully focused on the last two races of the season."

0.12mm. Talk about measuring with a micrometer!

The Papayas were throwing sparks EVERYWHERE early on in the race. It looked to me that they’d gambled on more down-force. I was assuming that’s also why they weren’t able to pull their usual “1-2 Runaway”.

Max seemed to be light on downforce as was evident by his magical smoothness thru the gnarly turn 14-16 combo at the end of The Strip. He was on fire last night and had his velvet touch in spades.

Antonelli doesn’t get enough credit for his excellent driving. He clawed his way to the front from a 17th start position and an early race pit-shit-show (pitted on L3 to get off of Softs and on to Hards dropping him back to 15th from 13th) PLUS a 5 second penalty for a “micro-roll” (the car DID move) at the start…yet, he drove his way to 6th by L25 (1/2 way thru the race). & making his way to 4th on L31 where he stayed to the finish. His 5 sec penalty bumped him to 4th…but, after the Papaya Snafu…Kimi gets 3rd! Again…from 17th! That makes him the Driver of the Race, to me.

Leclerc pulled off some Michael Schumacher moves to get the red sled into 6th.

Hamilton, who REALLY shit the bed in qualifying…IN THE RAIN…WTF? He’d a Rain Magician! WTF is going on with him & his loss of confidence. I swear, he’d be better off at Willams or Aston..and, no…I’m not kidding. The Prancing Horse ain’t working for Mr. Hamilton…PERIOD. I’ll give him a nod for getting in to the top 10…but, damn…this is actually sad.

Hulkenberg in 9th was, also, a really good showing.,

Shout-out to Sainz in his Williams in 7th and Hadjar in 8th in the Racing Bull.

Seeing the championship points take a big hit after last-nights technical mistake at McLaren is a GOOD THING in my eyes.

Guess what? 2 races left and it’s getting very, very interesting!
I don’t know about you; but, I did not have any of this on my F1 BINGO CARD!

Saw a new term for McLaren. A lot of people believe they are favoring Norris, so they came up with McLando. 😄

I saw a post earlier today saying that Cadillac is allegedly paying Herta $8 million to race F2 next year while the majority of the drivers are paying $3-4 million to race.

Some guys in F1 don't even make that.

I guess they wanted the best US driver and he’s the one available?  His estimated earnings in the 2024 Indy Car series was $7 million including salary, performance bonuses, sponsorships, etc.,.  That’s just an AI response to a google search so I’m not sure how accurate.
