I hate leaving out the pioneers line Joel Roberts, Gary Jones, or even Roger DeCoster but Everts, Cairoli, Carmichael, and McGrath won a hell of a lot of championships.

Jett got plenty of shit for saying he'd like to get as close as possible to 72 SX wins. He never said he was going to beat it.

Deegan is already claiming he's one of the best to ever do it.

You can't make that shit up. 😄

Time to bring out the pitchforks, no? Only fair.

I see them both the same way on this one.  Jett has a goal of winning the most SX races and Deegan has a goal of being up their with the greats when he is done.  The odds are against  both of them.

Where do you come to the conclusion that the odds are against both? We're just now coming to a stage with Ando, Martin, Eli, etc where we realize you don't have to burn out and age out at 26 years old.  Technique is better, safety equipment is marginally better, bikes are more reliable, training and fitness are better...

Anyone looking for either Jett or HD to have "another couple years" is in for a very long decade plus. They have plenty of time to stack those odds, in the foreseeable future the biggest challenge will be the give and take between the two of them.

Many have tried and many have failed.

I'm a long time follower of the forum here. This is my first time making an account. Thank you for the warm welcome! I will be chiming in frequently. As far as defending him goes, I wouldn't consider that defending. I just find it funny that it seems like 50% of the posts on here lately are about him and how easily he rage baits all the old heads. It's cool he gives you guys so much to talk about

Nobody actually cares, you know that right? Yeah, Deegz is really "rage baiting all the old heads." We're all just talking shit on a forum. Nobody is kicking their dog once they're done on Vital because they're so fired up. Deegz says dumb shit so we talk about it. Damn, he really got us good

I think we need space for a few more heads:

Tomac, DeCoster, Stewart, Reed, Dungey

If you are going to add them, you also need to include anyone else who has won multiple champions...

Jimmy Weinert, Bob Hannah, Broc Glover, David Bailey, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Stanton, Mike LaRocco, Jeff Emig, Ken Roczen, Cooper Webb

I’ve always said when ranking these guys to split it into two eras, one era is MC/93-Present in one, then anything 92 and before. MC brought the era of style and technique into what it is today, also the schedules line up more similarly when looking towards the late 90s with race counts etc.

Shouldn't Mount Rushmore only be for riders who have achieved a perfect season?

Lots of “greats” not going to make the cut.

I'd put Ryan Villopoto who won the Supercross and Motocross Championships in the same year, 2 times, in the open spot.Rick Johnson, Jean-Michel Bayle, Jeremy McGrath...

Rick Johnson, Jean-Michel Bayle, Jeremy McGrath, Ryan Dungey, Eli Tomac only did it in one year.

RC never lost an outdoor championship and won 5 SX championships, so wouldn’t he have done that 5 times? Imo, right now there should only be 2 faces on Rushmore…. RC & MC

If you think that then you haven't been closely observing the sport.
