In the mail I got a a post card for a third party survey, with $20 coupon to amazon upon completion. The survey was specific to me because I'm a KTM motorcycle owner. I just completed the survey, and took away a few things:
- several questions regarding electric motorcycles
- a question specifically asking where I believe the market will go in 5-10 years regarding ICE vs electric
- many questions asking about power delivery and sound
- KTM is clearly doing market research to figure out demand and where the mind of the buying class is at regarding electric in moto
It’s smart of them to do a survey. I’d guess the demand is a lot less now than a 2-3 years back. I’m not a fan but from a noise standpoint electric could save a track or two.
Interesting.
At the moment, they've shelved the new Freeride that was supposed to be released in January 25 (and that had been presented in October 24).
They've seen Stark selling thousands of bikes and may have realized their 26 hp, 112 kg, 5.5 kWh 2025 Freeride E could be a hard sell at the same price than the 60 hp, 120 kg, 7.2 kWh Varg EX?
I would bet that Stark has sold more bikes in one year that KTM has sold Freeride E in 10 years so they may need to think this through. KTM had such a head start, they released their Freeride E in 2014 but evolutions over a decade have been very timid.
Thousands of Starks selling in a year??? Does that count all the ones being sold buy guys going back to ICE?
That’s jus’ mean, man! 🤣

That’s absolutely rich considering KTM is the main reason none of us can race E-bikes in AMA sanctioned races. They can go to hell.
They are selling like hotcakes here in the PNW. I bought one myself.
Ah so 7eleven is an official Stark salesman. Duly noted. Beagle how about you?
You spelled Honda wrong
No, this one is mainly KTM driven.
