AUSX Supercross Season

10/11/2025 10:35pm

Last night was cool. Kids got to meet Phil and a bunch of a signatures from some of the other top riders.

From my perspective;

Wilson was clearly better than everyone else, not just in the whoops but also in the rhythms. He was the only one doing 3 in after the finish line. Clout was second best on the track, he is like an Australian version of RJ IMO. Soubs was really good, better than I expected. Phil was good but pretty conservative. He really has starts nailed though, clearly a big strength.  Harrison was a bit underwhelming. Tanti is loose, he rides on the edge the whole time and doesn’t mind bumping others.

McElrath and Turner were, as you would expect, really good. McElrath is the class of the field though. Larwood was also impressive. Wilson Todd is pretty aggressive and didn’t make any friends. Larwood even kicked his bike at the end of the second race. His second moto ended us with him on the ground. If a US team was looking for good investment Ryder Kingsford would be the one to look for hey.

SX3 I expected Malinoski to run away with it but he got dropped by Kayd and Jet Alsop stuck right with him for the whole main.

Massive props to Dean, great to see the respect and support he has from the whole class, I don’t think there was a rider who didn’t stop in to offer support.

Awesome to see Mellross on the podium with his young fella too.

Yeah, it's crazy that the series in a country with nearly 320 million more people is a higher standard.

I think the series is becoming more of a feeder program for amateurs and a successful one might I say. A lot of strong talent coming out of that series

What strong supercross riders have emerged out of that series?

Man that was hard to watch last night, poor Deano, he couldn't be further away from his family right now stuck at the bottom of the world.

I think all these riders have benefited from this series in some way.

I think Star Yamaha being vocal about keeping an eye on this series and showing more interest in the amateurs here racing this. Plus Reed, Brayton, Townley all expressing how good this series is for the younger generation,  is a positive.

RIP Mrs Wilson. That was heartbreaking. Prayers to Dean and his family.

Add Americans using it for development.

Parker Ross last year went over &  did very well this season.

The Aus X Series is perfect for those young American kids to get gate drops, learn bike set up, race craft and people are right it does benefit them for when they race in American sx, does it work for Aussie riders, not all the time, its harder for Australian riders to take a gamble on themselves in USA and go there as a privateer to test the waters.

I wonder a many laps Jett & Hunter will lap this field by when they come to town

i think some of the aussie riders complaints on rides going to overseas riders where proved tight by a couple of the privateers putting it to Harrison and Phil,

Harrison had bad starts but looked fast. Phil was doubling through the main rhythm lane fairly often and just didn't look to be interested in taking any risk. It would have been great to see what Clout was capable of but unfortunately those first turn crashes were all she wrote in such short tight races.

Lux Turner just got some top 10's in 250 Supercross and SMX. He did NOT dominate. The Ausie boys are a lot faster than people think.  Even the younger class is very fast. Kayd Kingsford beat Malinoski, and he was always near the front in the futures/SMX next.

I think Malinoski riding sx3 is pretty lame ,  he should be with sx2 with tiger wood ,  although it maybe because of the rides available

I dunno hey, Parker Ross did the SX3 class and that turned out alright. I think he will have his hands full in SX3. Maybe the US teams will just see more talent options in Aus?

I believe Tiger is too old for mx3.

People saying its good for spotting talent. This years so far was underwhelming. Wilson Todd should be up front. Just crashed his brains out.

Jake Cannon is the real deal. Although didn't stand out too much at this event. But did EMX this year was good and first time mx2 supercross.

Clouts gotta stop trying to take people out. I saw same shit in outdoors this year with him wiping Webster off the planet. It got Phil hurt and in the end riding stupid cost him any chance at being part of the championship.

Thought West would be better. Like Turner got top 10 in 250 supercross.

Kayd Kingsford is legit. All year.

Westy has only been on the KX for maybe 2 months and still dialling it in and testing, its been a change going from the Yamaha and living where they are, they just can't do massive changes, their suspension guy lives down south and need to send shit back and forwards.

Wests are awesome. They have a great facility. They help other riders. I just think or thought he would closer to the pace.

For all the reasons you mentioned is probs legit. Very familiar with Kawasaki. But has been off them for a few years.

Maybe as the series goes on or more technical track will help.

Oh their place is awesome, was out there couple weeks ago catching up, getting photos, both the boys will get more comfy as the series goes and comfier.

I'll be attending the rest of the series with them if all goes to plan.

Yeah best facility in Australia. (With Great human beings). I was going to send my son there for the lead up to the Supercross. But he got hurt. He had a SX3 teammate. I told them they are insane if they don't pay them and go there.

I just watched some highlight of round 1 and it looked pretty wet in spots, yet  it didn’t turn into an absolute rut-o-cross. Are they doing something to the tracks down there to make it hold up so good? And if so why can’t they do it in the usa?

The company who is building the tracks for Aussie sx also built the mxgp track in Darwin.

The dirt was bloody red thats for sure, our red dirt holds moisture well
