gasgas had big rebates so I picked a 500 up back on November. did a few mods to it and for the little bit I got to ride it it seems like an awesome do it all bike. desmog, vertex ignition and a 450 pipe woke it up a lot. looking forward for the weather to start getting nicer so I can ride it.

Trying to do a ton of research for these bikes just got a 501s heritage thinking of doing the same pipe off a fc. are you happy with it and did it help the bike that much?

Seems like fitment for my 2025 isn't out there or its 1k+

Don’t forget about the 450RL. It’s not as light or hardcore as the Euro brands but it’s a much better all’ rounder.

It’s worth every penny, runs way better.  All you really need is the vertex and an open silencer. The fc silencer is cheap and works well. I put the airboat off an fc on my 500 also and got rid of that reed cage thingy.

Thanks for the insight. Im pretty torn on what im still gonna do. seems like no one has a stock 450 pipe that isn't 400$ so may be forced to go the slip on route and take the chance on older year fitments (2023 prior). I will say honda had so much more documentation with aftermarket haha. husky is a little frustrating

I hated my 450RL even after an ECU and pipe. If someone wants one though used is the way to go, resale is crap compared to the Euro brands

There’s a bunch on eBay for fairly cheap. I think I paid $120 for mine and it was brand new. The airboat was like $25.

I really liked my 450rl in the fast desert style riding 40-60mph trails here in the north east. RL Didnt really like the hard technical single track i only got ride of it for my tenere which i took anywhere and everywhere. 501 is a monster like a 300 2 stroke if you ask me it will lug thru just about anything

You don’t have to. It will work with the 500 header too. The main thing is the open muffler.

This is my 2023 500RRS. Full beta suspension work over, FMF can, RR mapping, and a some other goodies. It's now back to a full dual sport, but this thing is the best all around offroad bike I've ever owned, and is more than a capable track bike for a normal vet rider.

RIP LACR

My wife's company sells a high end bike carrier. I get to talk to many customers, many of which are Beta owners. They LOVE their bikes.

I have had three Dualsports and loved them all. First one was a XR 400, 25 years ago that introduced me to the world of Dualsport, which is a fantastic way to ride and explore motorcycling.

Had a 520 KTM that was awesome, but can be a handful in single track.

Bought this 2016 350XCF-W and it's a great all around bike. When I know i'm going to be doing a Dualsport event, I gear up the counter shaft one tooth and it helps a lot for pavement.

Are you getting an aftermarket ecu or having the stock one remapped?

Can’t go wrong with either. I bought the vertex because twisted development was having a Black Friday sale and it was like $400 off.

Was thinking a vortex as well. hear good thing about them just don't wanna shell out 1k on something. big fan of riding my bikes a bit then upgrading around 500 miles.

A vortex tuned by XPR or Twisted is single-handedly the best mod that you can make to these bikes. Even at full price, it’s worth every penny. Don’t wait 1,000 miles, just rip the bandaid off and let ‘er eat lol

Beta and Three seas recreation 100%. We have had KTMs for decades, and my wife's current scooter is heavily modded XCF-W350, reflash, FMF, reckluse, lowered, on and on. I just replaced my Husqvarna with a Beta RR from Three Seas and am very impressed, 1750 miles in the first two months. No ECU bullshit required, no pipe, it fuels cleanly, no stalling at all, hiccups, flame outs, wonderful power plant. I will be hard pressed to ever buy an Austrian bike again.

The new Triumph 450 enduro model looks to be great. Fully uncorked, kyb suspension and can get it plated.

The question used to be 350 or 600? 😂original b944b991-2656-4a29-86cc-8a61c28ba0b8 IMG 20250728 122423968 HDR 0

Scored a Vortex ecu from a friend for free and got that FC450 pipe for 95$. I cant believe how much of difference it made for the bike. Its a monster on the road just puts power down. i didn't get a chance to do anything techy or hard enduro type stuff yet but some light trails. blew my 450rl honda out of the water.

I just bought a 450 XCF-W. I'm in Ohio and it comes with a Motorcycle title, not an Off-Road Only title. I considered the 500 EXC and XW-F but to de-smog and re-tune, I'd be in for over $1000 bucks on top of the cost of the bike.

For me, the engine and suspension will be fine as-is on the 450 for trail and dual sport riding. My intention is to spend $400 at True North Motos for the Dual Sport lighting kit and call it good.
