If it’s not about law enforcement , then what do you think it’s about? Seems like whats been going on has been pretty effective.

Trump is a corrupt authoritarian leader fixated on crushing half of the electorate that he considers to be his enemy. Together with his psychotic little sidekick Steven Miller he is manufacturing a crisis and deliberately provoking people in Democratic-led states and cities into violent confrontations which they can then exploit politically.

It's all bullshit propaganda - neatly presented in those provocative Homeland Security videos fed to you on social media - designed to divide your country, consolidate power and rule the country like the dictators he has always admired.

I honestly haven’t watched any of your so called propaganda videos. I totally disagree with you and get the feeling that you’re the one that’s watching...

You're in the Seattle area, don't you see all the smoke from people burning things down in Portland? It's all over the news, the city has been almost completely leveled from insurrectionists lighting shit on fire and causing chaos. Thank god Trump is helping those poor citizens fight those evil bastards trying to ruin the city.

Gibby was there this weekend, you should see the pics he took of all the chaos. It's insanity this is happening in the Pacific Northwest.

It's all part of the plan, to declare an insurrection and cancel the mid-terms.

Oh is that where the smoke is coming from? I thought it was coming from the fires in Eastern Washington. Thanks!😂

I still can't believe people actually are supporting this. Maybe if a mayor asks for help from the Guard, sure send them help. But this is unreal.

Sending Federal troops to manage a local/state issue is a slippery slope. What is the goal of these initiatives?  At best it’s a temporary solution to a long-term problem.  Trump’s target cities are the usual suspects, and his use of terms like “enemy within” indirectly labels many Americans as enemies.

States’ right play a massive role in this country’s history.  Rolling in troops as law enforcement violates that balance between the states and the Feds.

There is nothing slippery about this.

The POTUS is duty-bound to enforce existing immigration laws and can do so anywhere in the USA it is needed.  Period.   The ICE Agents are enforcing and performing duties that follow existing law on the books.  Period.      Trump is 100% right in that if you are targeting officials performing duties on existing, codified law,  you are inciting violence and harm and that is by definition what an enemy does.

This shit aint complicated folks.   The liberal morons let MILLIONS of people into the USA on purpose,  and Trump is merely trying to clean up the carnage those idiots created.

This does not violate any imbalance whatsoever.    Federal immigration law is on the books and the POTUS can enforce it.  Who it their right mind does not want criminals and riff-raff deported?

I swear,  even the simplest common sense notions cant be grasped by the Left.    Its mind boggling to behold.

Well said Jafo it's not Rocket Science.

I would have supported Biden doing the same thing but alas he/they would never.

Word is that Louisiana governor has spoken to Trump administration about sending the Guard into Baton Rouge and my city of New Orleans .

I welcome the temporary surge to help slow down violent crime and increase public safety.

Just like after Hurricane  Katrina and the recent Terrorist attack last New Years eve on Bourbon street.

Immigration/ICE is a different subject. I’m referring to federal troops taking on de facto law enforcement roles against the will of the local government.  Trump’s use of language like “enforcing law and order” is no different from language used by despots throughout history.

I’m not saying better, more effective controls aren’t warranted. And many locals might welcome a federal presence. But what is the plan after the feds leave?  Has Trump presented any Day 2 strategies?  Or is this simply a temporary band aid?

You are right on the topic of Federal troops and what roles they legally should or should not play.    Im not a legal scholar so I cant speak with confidence on the actual language of laws, word by word, and how reads.   But I would imagine if you have certain groups officially proclaimed a terrorist group,  then Federal troops can indeed be brought into things.   It all goes down to the literal language of codified, active law(s).

Further,  when you have wackjob Governors and Mayors who are literally telling local law enforcement to stand down and not do their jobs,   what is the next remedy for the law abiding American citizens in those areas who will be collateral damage due to zero leadership in their State and Cities?

I know exactly where your allusion is trying to take things,  but Trump is not Pol Pot.   He's not trying to pull some secretive coop on the America and declare himself Czar.

For the record,  any rants I throw out citing "the Left", isnt about you.   Im talking about the massive segment of America who have this blind eye that obviously cannot be fixed.  They literally will let cities burn before they can admit Trump is doing a SUPER job as POTUS right now and he's not been in the office a calendar year.   By every measure things are getting better, and he's just coming off the starter blocks.    I would have a whole lot more respect for the other side of the aisle if they could, at least, be objective on things.   Even liberal talking heads like Bill Maher and Steven Smith, who will never be Conservative or vote Republican,  will straight up admit Trump is following every campaign promise and trying to make the USA better for the Joe Q. Taxpayer punching a clock.  They also will point out the sheer lunacy that the Left is embracing and so riduculously adamant on clinging to.  You cant surrender your party to wackadoodle people like AOC, Omar, Mamdani and the other mentally deficient kooks.   There are LOTS of competent,  level headed and bright Liberals out there,  for fucks sake,  bring those folks to the forefront and get their names in the Press.  Get rid of Schumer, Pelosi and all the other walking corpses and bring in some actual IQ and vision.    The USA needs good Liberals,  society needs balance.  But dang it,   get rid of the mental cases and drop all the Trumps a dictator/Nazi hysteria.     The big orange Cheeto is doing good things,  let him do the job the majority of Americans voted for him to do.

President Trump is taking the bad guys off the street and deporting them if they are here illegally and locking them up if they are US citizens.

Why did the governor talk to Trump about sending in the Guard? He has that authority as governor, all he has to do is give the order. No Trump needed.

She's a functional retard, but Kathy Hochul (NY gov) rightly brought 1,000+ Guard troops in to secure the NYC subways, and Trump had nothing to do with the decision.

Well ok, that’s good Hochul brought in the guard. Whether Trump gave the order or not isn’t important. But you think that she would have done that had Trump not been in office? I highly doubt it.

I'm not defending her in any way – like I said, she's a functional retard – but she gave the initial order to deploy in 2024 (I believe it was after some scumbag set a dude on fire on the train platform). Louisiana's guy just seems to be kissing the ring. He could deploy every Guard troop in the state wherever he wants them with the stroke of a pen.

For the record, I'm all for Trump sending Guard troops into Chicago to defend ICE and Federal property from the lowest common denominator. Where I'm a little more skeptical is if they're given actual policing powers (I'm actually not sure if that's happening or not).
