Still those gate picks when you have a big name behind your country  that qualification race will offer enough time for a good Sunday and then it matters.

Yeah, the ballot doesn’t have a huge effect on the qualifying results.  It’s more of a spectacle that we like to over  dramatize.

Not sure what stunt riders, American Legion army veterans and local pizza restaurants have got to do with MXoN, but hey.

Personally I like it more at the starting line at the track.

I feel like with this layout of route and spectators it is more direct for everyone involved. Nice to see blucru participants in there... also i don't get turned on by pick up trucks struggling in a mud on start straight after 35 trucks went thru the same soaked path... so there is that. But to each their own.

Blu Cru riders getting some spotlights is a plus, indeed. And probably some people living in Crawfordsville who don't have anything with mx can attend this aswell, so. Not against it doing in the towncentre, but not my thing.

I am stoked to see what they put together for the rider introductions/presentations.  That turnout in town was outstanding.  Gotta give it to the fans too.  If you go to MXoN, might as well take in the entire event.

Do they go all out in France or Holland with that street parade?? I love it. Everything in USA is bigger obviously but I really respect their efforts to make this event bad ass..  I can’t imagine a rider doesn’t want to be part of this it’s awesome 🥳

Are they all Yamaha kids, or is it like the old Race of Champions where kids from different brands all raced identically prepped Yamahas (and later Kawasakis)?

I believe they're all Yamaha kids. I know that all the Canadians racing the event are on Yamahas here.

Lamest part of the event to me is the ballot for gate picks.  I know some dig it.  But I guess I just like things to be based on merit.  Pretty hard to qualify top 2 or 3 with a 35th gate pick in a short 20 minute race.  Plus your chance of negative shit happening is way higher with those picks.  If you don't qualify towards the top as a team your gate picks for the actual event are not great either.

Should seed the top 20 based on last year's event for qualifying and everyone else draws a number.

Or base it off practice times for each class. Imo.

I think they use it as an incentive for the smaller nations to take part in the event. Even for a team qualifying in 1st place, the second rider only gets 21st gate pick.

The bigger nations want to win but for the smaller ones it's the opportunity to qualify for the A finals.
