I used to hate the ballot, Team USA always seemed to go top 10 or bottom 10.  But now I've grown to accept it's just part of the event.  And watching JCoop rip a massive holeshot in 2019 at Assen from the 31st gate pick out of 34 was exciting...

Well there’s that bottom 10.  So predictable.

Remind me. Is this just for gate pick for the qualifying races? Then the gate pick changes to your teams overall qualifying races finish?

These gate picks aren‘t so extremly important as some of you guys might think. Always keep in mind, that there are really slow riders in each class, and the top 10 will always prevail in a longer moto. And at the end of the day the top 5-7 nations will always come out on top on saturday. 

And it’s not that big of a difference which of the top 5-7 gate picks you have come the sunday races.

I think Canada got last pick last year or the year before. IIRC, both years were horrible picks . 

Of course we don't have a shot at winning, but it still sucks to see when you send a team that can get the best result the country has ever at the event. Currently that's 8th in 2004.

I guess its a good thing Tomac and Deegan proved you can rip holeshots from the far outside gates. All 3 are going to have to do the same thing in their qualifiers.
