Here's the thing, if you think government is doing a good job, then they are doing a good job. If you think government is doing a bad job, then they are doing a bad job. When you wake up tomorrow, the exact same conditions will exist for you to keep believing what you believe. There is zero that you can do to change how government operates to eff us over. What we can do is influence people to see the good what we see to come over to our side. When enough people get together, the size of the group can influence how government operates. You and I individually? Not a chance. Unfortunately, the left has taken to killing people while the right still wants to dialogue. Have you seen the latest? Sniper in TX with "anti ICE" on the bullets.
I want a president who will enforce our existing immigration laws.
I want a president that will enforce our crime laws so we can be safe on the streets.
I want a president that will remove regulations that keep housing from being built and energy from being affordable.
I want a president that knows the difference between a man and a woman.
And I want a president that will be president of "The United States" and put our interests first.
If you do these things, I will vote for you. The how you do those things we can discuss later, first you have to actually do those things.
So I voted for a president that said he would do those things and is actually doing those things.
In today's world, I could even vote for the Bill Clinton of the 90s.

How can You say that this is any more or less of a suppression of free speech than what is going on with Kimmel? The president himself is saying that he and the FCC are behind it. And there are stations not airing him.
The funny thing I see happening with Democrats is they are always saying that Trump lies all the time. But then when he says something that makes him look guilty or bad or that they like. They believe him.
It might have been the best thing that happened to his show, the views on Youtube jumped from an average of 2-3 Million per monologue to 11 million on his first show back, and a boost to the older clips as well. And the TV ratings that had been slowly dropping since 2015 were the best they have been since 2015.
I know its a little off subject, but both families of the Kirk assassin and the Ice shooter are all conservatives other than the shooters. The ICE shooter was registered as an Independent , and I don't think the Kirk shooter had voted. I don't want to use their names and give them any publicity . Do You think there is a connection to shooters seeming to come from conservative families? I don't connect the party to the shooter so the families party doesn't matter to me either. But Since a lot of people seem to think its an attack on the right by the left. How would the families and upbringing factor into that?
I know that I have my more neutral political perspective from growing up and seeing and hearing my parents talk about how they were voting and why, and also hearing what my mother would say about the interviews of politicians she did. She hardly would talk about their party, mostly about how they themselves were and how the interview went. The party didn't really matter to her as much as the candidate and what they wanted to do and how they answered questions. A lot of those were during the time the Fairness doctrine was around so she had to have equal time for both sides, and she kept doing that after the laws changed.
The way the kids are raised seems like it could factor into what lead to them going crazy, or not. But that seems more relevant to what type of person You are than who You vote for does.

The crime prevention and building codes are more local things than National. The president can have policy changes that impact how local law enforcement can act to a degree, but that's more local policy than National.
There is no Federal building code, its all up to the states and local cities and towns.
The State sets a base set of codes and then local cities and towns can go more strict on them. So just because the President signed something saying You can have a high flow shower head again, doesn't mean that You can legally install one in Your state or city. It doesn't mean that anybody will build them either. And with local laws not being impacted there may not be a market big enough for them. That's just an example. I worked for a developer for 11 years, and some towns were more expensive to build in because of the much more strict codes for everything. Some towns the septic system would be 3 to 4 times as expensive than others. The sizes of the windows needed in bedrooms, insulation , how much water was used by the dishwasher,toilet,shower head, all local State codes that would sometimes be more strict depending on where.
To me america first is not cutting off the support and military help we give other countries. We need to do a lot of that to stay as strong globally and have the global influence and important alliances. If You give that up and allow China and Russia to fill the void , the US is in a worse place.
Most of the things You wrote are the common values I see shared across party lines with many people I talk with. With how to do them and what caused the problems that need to be fixed for those things to happen being when things start to fall apart.
I'm not saying I disagree with any of those things. I would like to add that I would prefer a President who tried to unite ALL of the people . I can understand during an election going hard on Your opponent. But calling them an enemy is not accurate. And After an election , You are the leader of the country, not just Your party. In an election that was as close as the past elections have been. The president should listen to the viewpoints of the entire country. Not just their party. Especially when the elections have been so close to 50/50 as far as the people ( not the electoral votes ). I want a president who isn't going to say they are going to war with the opposite party. I would like a president who could truly put the country above themselves . One that You can criticize and they take an honest look at what they are doing instead of saying Your fake news. I don't care what party they are a part of. I want a President who brings on advisors who will call him out on his BS and not just be yes men. A president who trusts the people they hire enough that when they say something is wrong, he/she listens.
I'm not saying that Trump is or isn't some of what I look for. Honestly, he has done more that helped me personally , in his first term. He stopped a casino from being built in literally my backyard. He hurt the Native tribe that was at the first thanksgiving as a result. But I have a couple miles of woods behind my property .They ended up putting a tiny Casino in after winning an appeal in court. Its temporary for now. ( originally it was going to be a Billion dollar giant place with hotels, indoor waterpark, etc. ) . So I do have a casino that I can almost walk to. Under Trump, the Covid money was easier to get, and didn't have to be paid back ( that my biz qualified for ) and all those Covid checks he sent out helped the powersports industry boom. Under Biden I didn't qualify for any more of the programs for Covid money. And Bidens new laws for banking were a bit of a pain in the ass to say the least.
I'm not saying that I really liked either choice for who to vote for , for a while now. So don't think that I am saying that anybody I could have voted for checked all the boxes for me. I hate how divisive politics have become, and I really would like to see a combined effort from elected officials to work together to get away from the way things have been going. It is the United states , I would like to see leaders who try harder to make it more than just the name and put the country above donations and votes. Not do everything based on if they will be able to stay in office or risk not getting re elected.

I'm going off of what Trump himself has said. He has taken credit for the suspension.
So is it not a violation of free speech for anybody who's accounts were suspended by Facebook or Youtube that have since been reinstated?
The suspension 100% gave his ratings a boost . If Trump would just ignore the late night and other comedians he would likely not have to worry about them for long. He clearly helped the ratings for the shows by talking about them so much. Almost all conventional TV shows ratings are down, and the late night shows may have just died off themselves if he hadn't given them credibility by talking about them. Keep in mind that the election was relatively close, so there are millions of people who did not vote for Trump , who may not have been watching the shows if not for the publicity he gives them by talking about them so often. He may just have saved his show by trying to shut it down. He may succeed in getting him off ABC in the long run, but if the ratings stay up, Kimmel will get a deal with somebody. Like Colbert did.

Both familes of both shooters were mostly conservitives. I wondered how the way they raised thier kids could have impacted the way decided to react.

Im curious, how many kids have you raised from the cradle to HS graduation? Have you lived thru all the stuff that goes down thru those years? Have you spent almost two decades trying to mold this human piece of clay into a law abiding, decent person? One day at time for 18+ years?
The one variable that has to be addressed in 21st Century America, isnt the parents, but the ultimate affect of a kids viewpoints from social media.
There used to be a saying, "Show me your friends, and I will show you your future."
That needs to be amended to say, "Show me what websites/media you are plugged into daily, and I will show you if you end up respecting laws and being an asset to society or you turn out to be a libtard, unhinged kook bent on violence and chaos."
This stuff was NOT a factor in past generations. Kids these days are literally plugged into some type of persuasion basically soon as they are old enough to hold the smart phone in their hand.
Ive have seen parents do everything right, from day-one , and those kids turn out to be worthless. And Ive seen kids from dysfunctional, poor and violent homes, turn out to be model citizens and leaders in their own pursuits.
IMHO the external factors of social media and peer groups have the most influence on kids and how turn out.
