From a business perspective how could the big OEMs possibly condone this.  They spend millions on these riders.    I wouldn’t doubt it if Bobby gets his hand slapped by Yamaha.

With the mention of the Black Flag, i was trying to recall when someone at the National MX level got a black flag, It is all about the show!

lol
Running into the gate is way worse apparently

I thought I heard them say the penalties also triple since it's triple points. Did he get docked 15 or 5 points?

You can't honestly think he did that to Ryder on purpose? He did a lot of stupid shit but that was just racing

That’s fine I expect consistency, what Deegan did was dumb but if you think any contact should be met with immediate and serious consequences it just tells me you are another couch jockey who’s never competed/raced in your life.

There's "contact" and then there's last night. Multiple attempts to take out/ injure Shimoda. Several attempts on Kitchen and on Hammaker as well, all in one night. Gotta be some kind of record there. That kind of "riding" isn't racing and should be met with serious consequences.

Last one I can remember was supercross. Black flagged Reed for screwing with Canard. Not even close to as bad as what Deegs was pulling.

Weege said on the broadcast, “penalties are also tripled during this event.”

Doesn’t seem to be the case, unless the AMA is now issuing penalties in fractions🙃

That sneaky 5/3 penalty will really send him on the straight and narrow

Didn't Reed get black flagged for intentionally targeting and bumping Canard (once) all those years ago at one of the Anaheims?

How then, can the AMA allow such callous, malicious and dangerous riding for most of the moto? And what precedent does this set for future on track conduct in relation to penalties? Deegan's head was on a swivel the entire second moto, manipulating the race and specifically targeting a rider with deliberate intent to disrupt and take out, and with great risk of injuring the other rider. On what planet is that not a black flag?

he did, and after the wide spread condemnation for the immediate black flag it has not happened again, as after race penalties and a proper process has been established,

What do you think in this instance, though?

I’d argue the use of the word “proper” in there 😂

5 x 6 for hitting Joe 6 times , 5 for hitting Levi, 5 for hitting Seth = 40 points!

Triple points, 3 x 40 = 120 points!

he should have got the black flag after the second attempt, the one off the start was probably not worth it,  but if your slowing up and swerving at people its time to use it,

Listening to the Pulp race review. Weege said that, no matter what you do, a second violation is 5 points. So AMA couldn’t give more than a 5 point penalty by the rules.

So, by the rules, sounds like it was a proper penalty. Not sure about the triple points thing though that Weege brought up during the race.

I don’t know if black flag was an option. If it was, imo it should have been thrown.

I'm not targeting you here of course, so please don't take my comment here this way.

But on this response, what weight is put on other rider's safety in regard to black flagging someone? Do the AMA not have a duty of care to Jo (in this instance), to protect him from a rider that's clearly gone rogue? What if that take out actually broke Jo's collarbone, or any other limb, and the AMA had ample time to take action prior to it happening?

It's worse than i thought. Go and listen to the Racer X Race review. The idiots at AMA has implemented new rules. Whatever you do, however bad it is the first penalty is a written warning and the second penalty is in fact 5 points🤣

Imagine taking insiders from MotoGP, F1, WSBK, Indycar or whatever other reputable racing series and show the rules and officiating that we have. Those people would drop their jaws, and not from a positive POV. This is just next level bad, there needs to be a complete overhaul of the rules and how things are being officiated during and post-race before the gate drops at A1 in 2026.

Deegan had a written warning from a previous offence, so 2nd offense was 5 points + fine, no news of a fine...

But he could have been black flagged by the race official under 3.1.4...

Written warning does nothing for home schooled tool that cant read. Like has been said he tried to take out many riders so should have been black flagged as it was clear what he was doing even gate drop for everyone.
