Police found four dead dogs in an Evansville house Saturday.

According to an Evansville Police Department incident report, officers were dispatched to 1609 S. Morton Ave. at 4:30 p.m. Saturday to assist Animal Control officials who had received complaints from neighbors about an odor coming from the house.

Police looked in the front window of the residence and saw two kennels with two dead dogs locked inside. Two more dogs were found dead in the basement, the report said.

Neighbors told police they had not seen the resident in a couple of months.

No arrest has yet been made.

I knew you would respond to this, and I knew you would feel bad for the dogs. I don't see how this particular incident relates to Michael Vick at all.

I have to agree with Triple Five that people starving to death should get more press than dogs. The thing here is the obvious neglect. This situation is easily preventable.

I knew you knew, I remember you siding with Vick. Everyone has a right to their opinion, someone could have made 1 call and saved the dogs. I don't care for the "bush did it" philosophy when looking at these things. Yes people starve, it doesn't make the dogs any less important or their suffering any less. Those dogs suffered just as much as any kid or person would have in that cage and the lives they lost were all that they had to lose.

I agree with you Crash. I also agree 100% with your compassion for animals, children, and needy folks. I HONESTLY do not think you are a bad guy. The Vick issue is a tough one and it sucks all the way around. I do believe the guy did his time. The law is the law regardless of how we feel about it. There are many laws I disagree with yet i still have to obey them. This is why I no longer feel this country is even close to free. Whoever owned these animals was either a cruel SOB or something happened to them.

I don't see that Bush or Obama had anything to do with this?

Yeah, that is a tragedy for sure. But at least humans know where babies come from and they can make the choice to not propagate when they dont have the means to feed themselves much less offspring. Yet they keep making more and more with zero chance of feeding them all.

feel good story. I found an old male doxie in the middle of a road the yesterday near a golf course here in Temecula. I picked him up and took him to the local pound. Turns out he was reported lost 4 days earlier. Lucky dog. Weve got more coyotes around here than dogs. How he lived outside for 4 days and didnt get eaten or run over.....well like I said lucky dog.

In the story above something could have happened to the owner like he was hurt or killed but this shit happens all the time now. People are losing their homes (foreclosures) and some of these low life fuckin asswipes just leave the dogs in the houses locked up. For Fucks sake at the very least leave the back door open. And if they would take them to the pound they would either find homes or be put down with compassion and not starved to death. People this fuckin stoopid should be exterminated.
