Embarrassing? It’s a legit safety hazard. Riders have died from lighting. Kid got struck at spring a ding last year

The cluster of lightning strikes in the upper right is the initial storm that went through. The Speedway is approximately at the blue marker. 

The cluster at the lower left is moving towards the NE, following the initial storm. I’d bet that they are waiting for that to pass over also. 

Guess I lucked out. Had to pause the race to help family with something, came back 30 min later and haven't missed anything.

I wonder how late they let this go on for, if they have to scrap it or come back tomorrow, etc.  

Turn the lights on, put some gators in the mud puddles, and send it into the night!

They emptied the stadium at the NFL game Thursday night, cleared golf courses in the middle of major tournaments due to lightning strikes in the area. No promoter in any sport will mess a round with lightning. We don’t need spectators, team members or riders losing their lives over a sporting event 

Best part of the rain delay/cancellation was Davies photobombing the hell out of Deegan!

They enough daylight to finish the race. Lightning was long gone. Matt burkeen already has a video out of him walking the track after they called it. They were already tearing the track down. There was plenty of daylight left.
