I’d love to race a hair HS but I’ve never been able to make a lot of laps.  Even younger when I raced may hands and arms pumped quick.  HS and enduros way to long for this old man!

Give it a shot, I thought the same. It’s different from moto where you don’t sprint as fast and you have areas where you can shake your hands out and rest a little. Grab a camelback and pace yourself and just have a goal of finishing and of course having fun

You are spot on. Couldn't had said it better

I've raced a few in TX, I'd say they are better if you're more out of race shape because you only gotta go for a sprint, then it's a cruise to the next start. The guys on my row also made a pecking order after the first couple starts and let the faster guys go first, so the starts weren't near as crazy. Only time I've gotten a holeshot is when everyone else let's me go 😅.

I switched to hare scrambles a while back, but went back to moto after becoming claustraphobic in the woods, just wanted more room to let her rip.

I have tried a couple just hated it both times.  All I could think about was I am destroying my motorcycle and putting time on it and I am having no fun at all.  I just haven't enjoyed it.  Now I do think at the next great plans cross country I might try the 45 minute Sunday morning race.  We have a dedicated woods 250 for my boy so maybe I won't hate life so much.  Track is a little wider on Sundays.  I'll try it but no promises.

Yea want to try a sprint enduro for this reason. Can set a fast lap but don’t have the endurance at this time. With the sprint format seems you would get time to recover before your next lap

The one's I did were regular enduros, but each section was only like 10-15 minutes race pace, then a 5-10 minutes trail ride to the next start.

I've been racing a series in Texas called TORCS for the third year now.  The races are well organized and scheduled almost a year in advance.  Makes it easy to plan for them.  I can leave the house in the morning, drive to the race, unload, practice, race, and drive home in a reasonable time frame.  No sitting around for 8 hours.  And each race is roughly 70 minutes in duration, so ride time isn't a problem.

I still ride MX almost every weekend and now get to race 10+ times per year with them planned out well in advance.  It's been a lot of fun.

I love off road racing.

Ive tried to lead my friends.  They are much better riding 3 laps at a time. Hare scrambles arent for everyone
