Mxon trip

Hi guys. Travelling over to Mxon from the uk with family at the end of September. We are staying in Chicago for 3 days. Then collecting a motorhome driving to Indiana have a couple of days in Indianapolis then heading to Mxon for the full event. Wanted to know if there were any large motocross stores in the areas we are visiting? Can’t wait for it. Cheers guys

The other day it looks like there were still some RV spots available.

See you there!

Oy. If you don’t mind a 3 hour drive to Columbus, Ohio from Indy, you’ll find Iron Pony, likely the biggest mc/mx store in the Midwest. I would encourage a stop at the (free!!!!) Air Force museum on the way, near Dayton, Ohio.

Between Chicago and the track there isn’t a lot. Depends how much you want to go out of your way for a shop I guess? Happy to help with non motocross suggestions for Chicago though (as a Brit in Chicago)

I know of a great topless bar in Gary, IN if you want to go back home with more than you came with.

Brill, whilst in Chicago, we were hoping to go on a river cruise. Have a look down at Navy pier. That’s all we have planned so far. Also would love to go to a genuine 50s diner if you know of any. Thanks

Hey friend! That sounds like a great trip!

Chicago is a great city! I don’t know that there are any moto outlet stores there however.

It sounds like you’ve already got a really solid plan.  Definitely avoid Gary Indiana.  Not a good spot to stop.  Indianapolis is surprisingly small feeling and doesn’t have a ton to do but you’ll figure out enough to have fun for a couple days!  They have some cool fountains throughout the city

The river cruises (Wendella or architectural society) are my favourite thing to do. So for me that’s a must.

The diner thing, first that comes to mind is probably chicagos most famous https://www.eddebevics.com/ I have never been though.

If you all don’t mind walking. Most things are in walking distance. I’d suggest walking along the river to the lake, you can go round to navy pier there too, detour to the bean and the Buckingham fountain on your way. Then walk the lakeshore from navy pier north to oak street beach and then back into the city on Michigan avenue and walk up that and take in the shops.

Not sure when you're in Chicago but the cubs are at Wrigley field the week and weekend prior to mxon if you want to check out America's pastime at a famous field.
