Silver rims vs. anodized.

Curious which manufacturer will be the first to go back to silver wheels.

For the guys that ride about once a week.  How long do the rear anodized wheels still look pretty decent before they start looking pretty beat up?  Or do they last for years?

All colored rims even silver do this but it's less noticeable. After awhile the tire especially the rear. Will wear out rub off the color where the tire rolls against the rim.

I like the black spokes on my ktm's vs chrome. They seem to be holding up looks wise better. Not getting as dull as fast.

I'd like to see red anodized rims on my Yz.

When I rode BMX, I always had either a Blue anodized frame with red anodized wheels, or the opposite.  It looked really cool.  I always wonder if that would translate to an MX bike.

In my opinion, anodize is a really cool finish.

By the time a rim finish is thoroughly blasted, it’s probably time for a good inspection and start thinking about lacing up a new one. All those dents and gouges are stress risers. A gouge on the weld seam isn’t good. I’ve had a couple of rims fail over the years, one was a front where the weld seam separated completely and the wheel collapsed.. I’m probably a lot more paranoid than most, but I’ll never forget that crash..

They last years and hundreds of hours if spoke torque is maintained.  If you don't want a few scratches on your bike, leave it in the garage and don't ride it.

Thanks Smile .

It doesn't really pop like I'd hoped, and the red seat seems out of place.

It might work if combined with the right graphics. but the red rims alone aren't giving the effect I'd hoped.

Thanks for looking this up!

100+ hours on black rims without any major issues.
