Why do you buy gear?

I've brought this up before but I was talking to a couple of customers yesterday and thought I'd bring it up again. Why do you buy gear? Is it because RC or Stewart or Reed wear it? Is it because of price? Does any rider actually sell gear?

I bought my first new gear in 5 years when I found a good clearance deal on the net.

I try to purchase the brand of riding gear, goggles, t-shirts etc., that helps the privateer out most..along with cost and looks..

whatever looks best to me, sometimes I try to be a little different. I might get shift or fly the next set of gear I get. No Fear hasn't looked as good since 06 and the fox stuff just hasn't looked good for a while. I wear thor right now.

I have worn Thor forever. I usually always like atleast a couple sets every year so I run them. Now if only I could get some kind of deal on thor.. anyone anyone?

I get last years gear on closeout when ever my current gear gets thrashed. MXSouth usually has good deals when the new stuff comes out. Used to hit the Chaparral parking lot sale back in the day too.

I like to be a little different from everyone, so I choose a color scheme that stands out. I've been wearing Answer lately and really like their gear.

what I find funny is seeing a grown man wearing a full set of matching gear, never getting his bike out of second, putting around.....but I guess he looks good.
not saying you have to be good to wear full gear, it just struck me as funny.
