It is painful..

...when having to say goodbye to a pet.

Shadow was one of our workshop cats. We got her and her brother Gong  the ginger cat as kittens 8 yrs ago.

Shadow recently got sick. She stopped eating got skinny and became weak. Blood test revealed that her kidneys where failing. We had her on a drip and a special diet and that helped for a few weeks.

On Monday she became sick again and each day it got worse. On Wednesday I took her to the Vet and sadly had to put her down.

Yesterday we got together and buried her in the park across the road from our factory. I bought a tree and planted it over her.

It's effing sad and my heart is genuinely broken. Animals, pets only know love and loyalty towards humans, they are so innocent and deserve to be loved and cared for with no boundaries. I have such a deep love for all my cats (four at home) and one left at the workshop and of course my little dog Ruby at home.

I grateful that she is no longer suffering and is now at peace.

My only wish is that I could hold and hug her one last time.

Goodbye my Shadow, you will always be loved  missed and remembered.

So sorry for your loss. Losing a pet/friend was the hardest things I ever had to deal with. Only time will lessen the ache. If you haven't already look up the Rainbow Bridge. Hang in there. Godspeed

Sorry for your loss. My Tibetan Mastiff passed away on Tuesday, unexpectedly. I have been a blubbering mess since then. As one of my mates said, the reason it hurts, is that you loved her so much. Our house has a very different dynamic.

Hurts to hear this.

Sorry Boom.

I think most people here feel your pain, because we've all been there, or on the verge of the same situation.

We give our animals the best possible life.

That's the best thing we can take with us when they leave.

Pets are one of the purest relationships we have, which makes losing one all the more painful. Cats can be one of the most misunderstood creatures on earth, but if you've ever had one bond with you, you know.

We don't deserve our pets as the imperfect things we are but they love us anyway.

On a dairy farm we had a lot of cats to catch mice . Some are real wild you can’t come near others not . My older sister brought them in the house .  I bought a cb360 from a farmer I worked for when I was 15 . I took my dog Charlie for rides in town his legs on the seat & front legs wrapped around my neck with his head close to mine , it was fun.  He slept in my bed too with his head on a pillow.  He dug into a garbage bag & got a chicken bone stuck threw his stomach & died .  That was rough we got another dog quick tho.  All my trucker pals are dead that sucks , they where really funny guys.

my rescue bull/boxer mix just turned 12. Every single day she gets an extra few minutes of rubs than the day before. Damn I'm gonna miss that dog. She's been through some dark days with me.

Oh, and I'll share a favorite saying I heard the other day: "My dog isn't old. I just rubbed all the color off of her nose."

I smiled.

Sorry for your loss, it’s never easy when they leave us, especially when they leave early. I lost my 11 yr old soul dog over a year ago and I’m still not over it. Dude was seemingly healthy as can be, blood work and physical were perfect. Felt a mass under his abdominals and discovered he had hemangiosarcoma with a 24cm mass. Put him down 2 days later. Think about that guy every single day.

Sorry to hear this Boom. We recently had to put Baron (Bear) down. He was having some serious mobility issues that we work around for quite some time. After spending a significant amount of $$s, we fould out his spine was riddled with holes from multiple myeloma. 3rd shepherd we had to put down due to cancer. My only words are, if Shadow wasn't so special to you, you wouldn't hurt so much. You probably brought a lot of happiness to Shadow's life. Bear is the tan/blk German Shepherd10000004102456.jpg?VersionId=DUrnTzlgS0K2K15cUlB.

Sorry to hear about this Boom. Shadow looks like a really cool cat. quite an honor that you put a tree there for him.

TM I'm so sorry to hear about Baron he looks like a great Dawg and i'm sure you did a lot for him.

Pets really are amazing animals in our lives, the love they give is unconditional and when that time comes it really is heartbreaking and one of the hardest things to do....  😢

One of my dogs is coming up on 13 years old, and she's a large dog and you know how that is, she's limping around and has gimpy rear legs. I am dreading that time when it comes as I'm going to be a real mess as she has helped tremendously in the loss of my wife as she sleeps on the bed with me.

Our prized ( pain in the a$$ ) Simese  cat developed a blood clot and couldn't use his back legs , basically paralyzed.

So we eventually  made an appointment to have him put down....

My wife put him in the wagon sides, removed on a blanket  that day and wheeled him all over our property to his favorite haunts before putting him in the car to the vet...

Here we all are……..grown adult men.

In our younger days, maybe even today we would beat the living shit out of anyone that lipped us off.or our girlfriends, wife’s.flipped us the finger we would want to go over and break his arm.

We would make no bones about wanting to show the world how tough we are,or think we are.

BUT !!
When it comes to our pets…..Fuck we are little pussies , bitches and cry babies.

We will do anything for them , and what does any animal ask for in return……..nothing

Yet we give them the world , we would go to the ends of the earth to keep them healthy , safe and protected.

I too have had to put down 2 extremely gentle ,friendly street cats. That became house cats.

And both times it has fucked me up for a long time.

I have my last cat Bear sitting on our mantle.

So the grown adult men here will continue to post about how sad they feel about loosing their pet……. Well don’t stop doing it.

We all need to have our moment of sadness and by expressing these to others shows that you aren’t alone with how a pet makes you feel in life.

Thanks
