Wasnt really an Ando fan til he switched to green.
That year in SX the guy had some bad luck. Tomac was the man but Ando was the giant slayer that year.
I am a un-biased fan of the sport and I will have to say that his corner speed was insane that year.
Maybe someone can make a ( best of) and Im sure Eli would agree on at least the corner speed.
Anyone that has raced has experiemced at least one corner you had that you were on rails. Im not saying like Ando was that year but a holy shi* I nailed that.

Yeah I had few great corner moves & passes. The local hilly clay track I missed practice. 50& 30+ same gate drop a floater jump to down sides hill. A 30+ rider on a new yzf 250 was in the corner railing the outside rut 30 ft before me. I dove into the deep tacky inside rut , nailed it wo & dumped the clutch . I exploded off the corner rut into a steep hill the bike only did 4 quick bites of rear wheel banzi . I passed him in .001 seconds it surprised me. He went nuts & passed me on a straight into a rt turn hits the rollers on the rt. I go left in the air I down shifted to 1st . Land brake slide pivot & passed him back . A uphill off camber a 450 took the outside I worked the inside trying to stay hooked up. When it went a bit straight up shift I knew I had him I kept it wo . And passed him off a jump I looked ovr & down at him , that was cool. Wet tacky ovr watered sand track buried the bike entering woods in the skinny long swamp muck sand ruts , 90 sec to dig muck out of pegs So the pegs went down & kickthe bike 10-12 times. Then do it again 4 corners later. Then crash again but didn’t stall the bike . 6-7 th wet ruts into a corner I like the farthest from the outside. Cut out of it to AX brake slide slam off the deep wet outside to rocket out. It worked great the flaggers turned there heads like what the hell sound was that . The hook at the exit stood the bike up rear wheel off the ground. Wo I tapped 2 up shifts then the rear wheel touched the wet sand . Come off that corner like a rocket . I caught yz125 , mod bikes that corner to the jump face. I railed the outside 3rd gear wo at entree hit 4th & rail the outside deep rut That was fun I wanted the highest g force & speed .

If you’re talking about 22 SX, Ando absolutely was on rails, but as far as “….the guy had some bad luck” goes, unfortunately it was all of his own making. It seemed he cared more about his ego and the petty shit, than winning a championship. I was a fan until that year.
Kinda funny because I show up in a 95 g20 Chevy van . And grease a section Pro like . Then another 125 c - like , I laugh riding out of the weeds . I got to fix that which is fun. After getting knocked down & hit on the ground I start the bike & I,m down 1/3 of a lap . I held it wo in 3rd clipped the tops of the sand rollers & hit a wall jump . Trying to jump rt to stay in the lane of rollers . Didn’t work I land on a big deep sand hump on left angle of the hump. Separating the 2 lanes. Off the track onto the grass I leaned rt & held it wo. I had that oh no I,m taking 50 ft of the fence out . I narrowly missed it . I thought I might get DQ,d for being totally out of control. Haha
