to everyone making judgement, how about we wait till after the sx series to make an observation. Right now you guys are just blowing smoke up your asses with your comments. He grew up racing Hondas and has the speed to bring it home.

And also believe what Andimers said, I'm sure Honda did their homework before hiring a second rider.

RC left Honda's offer on the table, which was incentive laden, for Suzuki's guaranteed cash. RC would have made more if he had stayed at Honda and produced the same results.

Judging by the CO state flag in your signature, I'd say you are obviously a Short fan and aren't seeing the big picture here. Short = great guy and solid results. But, Andrew has proven one other thing - that he cannot push himself to ride on the edge to get the win.

Grant, while inconsistent, will push for the win and has the aggressive attitude that has been lacking from Team Honda since RC left. Grant will do whatever it takes to win and Honda has the team that will put him in a place to go for it.

Maybe the enigma and careless attitude with one of their recently departed riders left them wanting someone who wants it as badly as they do?
I can't disagree with anything in your post. It just all comes down to what perspective you have in the end; IMO if I were the powers at be at Honda I'd do everything in my power to lock up the GOAT, but I can see where some might disagree... And again, if I was at Honda I'd value consistency in the championship series over single efforts that might land a rider on the box.

Short got himself a good deal at KTM, and i think it will be great for him.

Grant? Only time will tell, the talent is there as we know, he just needs to keep it together and make it happen, i think he will.

Honda will have the same kind of team they've had the last few years. Canard will be the consistent finisher that Short was, while Grant will have flashes of brilliance but be hot or cold like Millsaps was.

Likewise, sir...I guess that's all it ever comes down to, right? Perspective.

I think Honda realized something that Suzuki probably now wishes they had figured out sooner - the power of the brand is stronger than any one rider. Even if a rider produces unprecedented wins, the image of the brand is what sells the bikes in the end.

Grant has always looked best on a Honda. He had some solid rides for JGR and took that team to the next level quickly by providing them with a supercross main event 450 win, an outdoor moto, and the gold metal at x games super x.

On the new Honda with all the experience Josh has gained in the last couple years and testing/riding with Canard at the test track, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Honda boys battling for podiums every weekend.

Here's to 2011... should be a helluva season.

After the year Grant had, I was surprised Honda signed him.

I think CR, TC, and CP would have been an amazing team for the present and future.

Canard is all about winning and nothing less, the exact opposite of Short
