Dilan Schwartz - Could he get a podium?

I have to say something but man, Dilan has been impressive lately. To his credit he has actually been very impressive the last few years. I feel like every time I look at the results, he is the top privateer and usually beating a lot of factory riders.

Personally, I believe with a good start he really could podium. In moto 1 of Washougal Deegan had the fastest lap of 2:16:599, Dilan's best lap was 2:18:082. In Moto 2 Shimoda had the fastest lap with 2:18:710 and Dilan fastest was a 2:22:703 (coming through traffic). I know that's just Washougal, but it's been the same thing for every race. Bad start then works his way through the pack and gets within the top 10. Just look at redbud if his bike didn't quit, he was top 5.

I truly believe he can podium. What do you guys think?

He’s had impressive showings for quite a few years it seems . Not sure why he hasn’t been given a top tier opportunity yet. There’s lesser deserving riders with better rides imo.

Under the right circumstances it’s definitely possible, agree with everyone that he deserves a shot somewhere elite. He’s been hurt a lot lately leading up to this year so that makes his results even more impressive

Supercross has not been kind to his career. It’s unfortunate for him and others that there aren’t good outdoor only rides available. He’s had top ten outdoors speed for years.

That's a very good point. He's always been fast outdoors but not quite the same indoors. Really do wish some teams would just do motocross only.

May the Schwartz be with him! Some top 5's to end the year will give him the chance he deserves and needs.

Triumph just announced the departure of Stilez Robertson. Could they have a seat open for him on a factory bike?

As an added bonus: the word "Schwarz" means "black" in German. Triumphs are black. It's meant to be!

I was very impressed by his preseason performance at the Glenn Helen warmup. He has not disappointed.

The BarX team is a pretty good team and has been for the last few years (even with suzuki) and does have factory support. so I don't know why the op think's he is a privateer. If his SX results improve next year then more opportunies will emerge.

It is great to see him do well in MX. Agree he needs to step up a bit in SX and stay injury free. Hoping he can get a podium in the final MX races.

Sorry didn't mean full on privateer, more meant a privateer team/non factory. Would love to see what he could do on factory equipment.
