You know what else becomes a jump if you make a mistake? A berm. Be careful where you put those things.
Dumbest take on Vtial.
^ This right here!
Chris Canning is a stud. Anyone that argues that is insane. Years of hard work, lightning speed and a devotion to the sport like nobody else. Good guy, good family.
He made a tiny mistake, clipped a tree trying an outside the box, risky line that nobody else does.
That’s what makes this guy great. He’s a sender.
That’s it. That’s all. No lawyers, no negligence, no conspiracy. No need for change. No need to point fingers at anyone. I am willing to bet, had he glanced the tree, he would have moved further left a little away the next lap and still sent it.
You guys are crazy trying to act as if the track / tree should be removed. The only constant variable in all of this is the tree. It doesn’t move.
Chris Canning is still a stud, I am thankful he didn’t get hurt worse and will forever be a HUGE fan of his.

“The tree and the turn have been here for as long as the track has been here, and I’ve never seen a rider try to do what Canning was doing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t without risk. He came around early in the moto while running second and went for it again, but the bumps pitched him to the right, and his shoulder hit the knuckle of the tree and practically clotheslined him off his bike.“
You know berms are part of the track and trees are not, unless it’s hard enduro.
Yes berms are part of the track just like the mound of dirt you were referring to that turns into a jump if you make a mistake.
It is a bad situation. I don’t even like DC, but I’m sure no one would’ve imagined that would happen and I’m sure DC MCSports AMA feel very bad about it. None of them wanted that to happen, and imo there’s no negligence involved. In fact, I would bet someone from MXSports or ama reaches out to this guy to express a heartfelt apology or a desire to help him and check on his condition. Just sayin
The mound is, but the tree isn’t. It’s not like the track is in the middle of a dense forest. There’s no need for unnecessary danger that isn’t part of the track itself.
Keep the trees. move the track slightly.
Barona Oaks used to have a tree at the top of the uphill. It added character.
Pros doing pro things. mickey mouse track needs to go.
currous what lines the ama pros were taking in the covid nationals there.
For that race, they had to keep the track at least 6 ft. away from the tree to help stop the spread.
