honest question. Does he perform better than he did the last couple years on a factory kawi?

Jason always had a personal services contract with Rockstar and Monster above and beyond the team's deal with (Husky, Kawasaki).  Most big name riders have deals like that.  Unless Alpinestars lets him out of his contract, I don't see him being in anything but Alpinestars.  What do I know though, I am just a creeper in a van down by the river.

I remember reading that he was shopping around for a different gear deal a year or 2 ago but ended up staying with AStars. I think I may have seen it on one of the silly season things from ML this last year, could be wrong tho.

I believe One was trying to get him.  Multiple year deals and being happy will keep you in the same brands though.

I would like to think so. When he was healthy and seemed to like the 2022 Kawi, he was an animal. If he gets back in shape and enjoys the bike I don't see him being where he has been lately. I know he has his own issues but his performance the last couple years does make me wonder about the new Kawi.

He put that "new Kawi" on the podium indoors and out last year and 3 out of the first 5 SX race this year. People have to stop with the bike being the problem.

Yeah I guess I did look past that. I didn't say I thought the bike was the problem, but that there was a pretty harsh fall off before we heard about his health issues so it made me curious.

People keep harping on the bike because of Prado, but the bike is the same platform as last year and Anderson had 17 top 5s in 29 races last year on this platform. The bike is not the problem in any capacity with him or Prado.

You cannot definitively say that there is nothing wrong with the bike when their results have been poor on both sides of the pond. Febvre has a works machine so that does not prove what your saying to be correct. Zero podiums in outdoors so far and only one top 5 for Kawi is ridiculous.

Yeah the bike isn't the reason it's not on the podium when it hit the podium and hovered in the top 5 all last year. It's the same platform.

Anderson is having huge health issues. He can barely finish a race. But last year he was on the podium and had this same platform in the top 5 over 50 percent of the time outdoors.

Prado, well there's an entire thread or three about his issues.

Point being this year, its mostly operator issues, not the bike.

Prado is getting beat by guys that should not even be close to him. The bike is not the problem no matter how much he whines about it being slow.

You telling me the new Kawi 450 is like a ‘09 KTM 450 or a ‘10 Yamaha 450 where the bike just sucks? I don’t think it’s the Kawi, I think it’s the riders. Anderson was on the podium a lot last year and that was the first year with this bike, it’s gotta be more dialed now. I’m convinced Jorge would do the same right now even if you flew his world title GASGAS over and let him race that.

You mean like when he came over and won a heat race on his Gas Gas?

To be fair, he was not really on HIS Gas Gas.

Ando is clearly very sick, probably physically and mentally.

Prado is mentally sick. It’s not the bike. It’s the riders.

That was a mud race. He also got second in a dry heat race this year on the KX but everyone forgets that...

He he also got 2nd this year in a heat race on a Kawi that’s slow and horribly set up, so he did about the same on something he’s fully comfortable with and something he’s not 🤣🤣🤣🤣

He also had 5 rounds that were not good by his standards in 23’ SX. 9,10,10,11,12. Obviously something is up with him but he wasn’t very consistent that year either. That’s a big portion of the SX season with not great results. He finished 6th in the series after finishing 2nd in 22’.

The 23 and 22 are the same bike. I am talking about 24 and this year. Kawi changed drastically in 24 so the 23 results can't be bike related either.

How does anyone have an individual gear/drink deal that doesn't expire at the same time as their bike deal? Also how much is Prado affected by the differences in diet/nutrition since crossing the pond?

Yea I screwed that up. Those are his finishes in the 24’ season. I fat fingered it. He also finished 5th overall in 24’, 6th in 23’ 2nd in 22’. I don’t necessarily think it’s all the bike either but those results weren’t great compared to his 22’ season.

I think its happening, heard he declined club mx because he wants to stay on the west coast. Not sure if its a multi year deal, but there will be an all new RMZ in '27. Suzuki wanted to focus on the street bikes for '26, that's why we only saw minor changes on the RMZ for '26.

This almost makes as much sense as anything else….!
