From the looks of the video it looked like Townley made up almost 3 seconds in 4 corners on Short. Townley was beastin that moto. Damn its good to see that dude back out there this year. I dont give a shit where hes from. Dude keeps it real, rides his ass off, and he races in the U.S. Cant ask for much more really.

Well .... BT was def on the gas but Shorty made a mess of about 5 corners in a row and one quad.

Not sure what goes on upstairs when people catch him and start pressuring to pass but I suspect it's mostly a mental thing. He needs to figure it out soon.

It does seem that most US riders & fans are agast when anyone gets near a Team USA rider, almost as if they should be given some special dispensation. Remember the reaction from Bubba and fans when Seb Pourcel raced him hard at Donington Park MXDN 2008?
The uproar when Stu Edmonds cut across Ryan Dungey on start of qualifying race at Lakewood, which was Dungey's fault because he spun off the gate. What about German's Marcus Shiffer who ended up on the deck when Dungey verred into him. Don't hear any German fans on here whineing! It's racing and incident's like this happen.
God forbid if "Pinball Barcia" is ever on Team USA, he will take out half the field!Wink Laughing Laughing

I think DC said it best in Racerhead if BT lives by sword, he can't complain when he dies by it! You wouldn't see Dungey or Barcia act like a punk and roost a guy on the parade lap the next moto and try to be a cool and brag about it like BT did when MA had a racing incident at the USGP. Hard to believe Euro's after the made up Canard deal.Wink Tongue Laughing Smile Sad

Short would have settled in and caught townley, roczen, regal again. He even said he was super nervous the first couple laps. He hasn't had to much trouble beating townley and regal all year.

Roczen is pretty fast....but one of our privateers put it to him!

He probably would have got Ken because Ken just got done racing a 35 minute moto (Trey was having the same problem with Marmont catching him). Townley I'm not so sure about and Regal beat him at Texas this year proving that Short doesn't always beat Regal. It's a race. That's what happened. Stop living in the past.

I find it hard to imagine that any of you guys complaining about BT, has ever really raced seriously. I mean really put all your heart in it and gave it all you had.

Maybe you would prefer DC to paint lane lines on the track and put turn signals on the bikes.

On a 2nd look it didn't look quite as bad but I certainly wouldn't call it clean either. It's poor judgement.

There are always people that use this subject (I'm not accusing you of this) and other subjects (like whether a big jump should be left on a track), to boast their own image. It's like "Hey, if you have to knock someone down then too bad" or "If you can't take big jumps then go home" etc. Because everyone likes to try and sound hard. But in reality it's bullshit.

Not one of us, NOT ONE US, would've been happy with being on the receiving end of that move. It's was poor poor judgement, he came in way too hot and screwed up. But that's ok, these things happen. What's annoying is when it's received back and the attitude is completely different.

I agree. For the record, I do think the jumps are too big, as well.

However, bad judgement is something you can only say after the fact. In the moment, BT and Shorty were both going for it. BT thought he had an opening and took the chance, something you do a number of times during a moto. Unfortunately Shorty got burned. That sucks, but thats also racing. When you're the guy on the ground (I've been there) you're obviously pissed and frustrated because you were putting your heart into the race also. It sounds like Shorty was surprised by the move, which is probably also why he went down.

To sit here and post that he intentionally knocked Shorty down is a noob statement made by someone with very little or maybe a low level of racing experience. Just my opinion, but I've been a racer for a long time.

That said, I think BT is trying very hard (maybe too hard) to get back to a level he believes he should be. When you're on the edge like that, stuff happens. Like the stuff that has been happening to him all season.
