IMO, he won't win an overall. Deschambault is a sand track and he was dropped at Gopher Dunes and Sand Del Lee.
Deschambault is next weekend and after that we have a couple of weeks break before the final round.
Hoping to see Phil, Wright, Pettis, Ward, and others race the last two US Nationals.

What is Deschambault like? Sandy or proper sand track?
Phil doing what he needs to do to possibly grab this championship! Good stuff.
More sandy than Sand Del Lee, but not bottomless like Gopher Dunes. IMO, the best facility in Canada. Nice track. Great turnout.
Look it up on YouTube. There's a big double. That might be a problem for Pettis' shoulder.
Interesting! I’ll have to look it up. Best facility in Canada is intriguing.
IMO, it's the one that "feels" the most like a US National. They usually have the best turnout of the year, great viewing from just about any spot, clean, etc. You can tell they put in the extra effort.
They host an amateur national during the week and the pro national is on Sunday. It's in Quebec and the fans seem to be more into than all the other places they go to.
Deschambault looks like such an amazing track. I daresay it looks more fun than most AMA tracks. All those hills and sandy dirt. Love it.
Top half of the track has loose topsoil with a hard base, then it becomes sand when it heads down into the valley and it feels similar to SDL. I did the national in 2019 (didn't do very good lol) and was extremely impressed with the track. Deschambault is easily one of my favourite tracks in Canada. I've wanted to do their pro national again since I've stopped racing but it hasn't been in the cards for me. Was also blown away how tidy the facility was; from what I've heard, the track is maintained by the provincial government. Maybe Mav can confirm this?
I don't know who gave you that info, but it is not run nor maintain by the government. It's a family-run buisness and the two sons are currently taking over (or getting way more involved so they can take over at some point, I don't know the exact details).
And as others have said, when you combine the track and the facility, it is arguably the best in the country.
Season started fine. Last weekend he had trouble breathing and had no energy. I'm assuming he'll be getting some tests done to see what the problems are.
Wish I could transfer the funds MXGP tricked me out of into watching the remaining Canadian races.
I find myself caring much more where Phil is in the standings then anyone over there.
Sorry.
Pit Row
If the MXDN team won’t have Pettis and Wright they have no chance. Pettis and Wright will be 3-5 seconds off of Jett. Ward would be 7- 10 second's off per lap.
So you're saying we may have Tanner and Quinn as our mx1 and mxopen picks? 😆Wtf? I mean no disresoect to those guys, they are national talent, but we're talking international here. Jess and Dylan are capable of running top 10 in any series in the world, they are our only legitimate picks.
Is she really going to let a couple busted gas tanks, mechanicals, and dq's be the deciding factor. I mean I know Dylan is part to blame for his demise this season with being crash prone lately, but damn, risk it with crash or win Dylan, or don't even bother.
I don't know about that. When that was first diagnosed, I remember reading to take the time to get back to 100% or it could become a lifelong problem, so maybe, but hopefully not.
Hopefully, whatever he's dealing with is not something serious and can get taken care of.
I've seen Ward be 5 seconds or more off Wright and Pettis.
Check out Jimmy D,s yz125 helmet cam premix race from last yr. I Really wanted to do the Tuesday to sat race . Then race premix on Sunday. Too many injection apts etc.
There has to be more to this story. Kourtney Lloyd is not an idiot and Wright and Pettis are clearly the fastest in Canada- no question. I have some thoughts that I'll keep to myself other than to say the points leader thing seems like a cover for something else.
If it does go by points, it looks like it'll be Ward and Pettis.
Last year Medaglia was originally on the team instead of Dylan. Yeah, Dylan had a massive crash early in the season that took him out for most of the year, but he came back for Walton not feeling 100% and won the overall. From what I remember, Tyler decided to give his spot to Dylan. IMO, it was the right thing to do.
I got nothing against any of the riders. I just want the best team to go and represent Canada. IMO, those guys are not Ward or Amyotte.
It's a world class event. Those guys are not at that level, and IMO, won't ever get to that level.
I think the team this year should be the same as 2023 if all the guys are healthy. It didn't go as planned, but it doesn't mean they weren't the right guys for the job.
Maybe Dylan is switching teams after this year and doesn't want to stay on the old teams bike for 2 months after the Canadian series is done? I dunno, I don't even know what his contract is with GDR or when it's up, just spit balling here.

Signed a 3 year extension with GDR.
With all the time and money courtney puts into the mxon program it seems odd she wouldn't want to send the best possible team, I like tanner and quinn but they aren't international level talent like jess and dylan. Maybe there's some uncertainty about sending them both after what happened last weekend?
Totaly agree Mav that Wright and Pettis should be going, however we should not send McNabb if he is healthy. He has tanked horribly at every International and USA opportunatey he has had. Send the top 250 rider in points or T-Dags if his elbow is up for it. MX2 will be our through away moto, so we just need one okay ride from our MX2 rider.
