First of all, to be perfectly clear on something: The person responsible for raping and murdering Laken is not Joe Biden, it's Jose Ibarra - the person who raped and murdered her. I'm not interested in arguing about whether Biden's border policies were too lax. I'll happily grant that. I don't think anyone would disagree that you don't want dangerous criminals in your country - legally or otherwise. And having a tougher border policy to keep more people like Ibarra out makes sense. But the point is that if someone does commit crimes, they are the ones responsible for their crimes and should be held accountable - as Ibarra was - he was sentenced to life in prison. That is precisely all anyone wants with this Epstein issue - for people who raped young girls to be held accountable. Joe Biden did not try to impede justice when prosecutors sought justice for Laken Riley. All anyone is asking is that Donald Trump do the same for the victims of those who were abused by people aided by Epstein. The Justice Department seems eager to pursue the issue and Donald Trump needs to let them do their job.
What happened to Laken Riley was tragic, it never should have happened, and I find it grotesque to use that tragedy as a means of deflection on the Epstein issue. When terrible things happen at the hands of terrible people, the right thing to do is pursue justice. That is the point that a whole lot of people are making.
