Whether it’s politicians, business leaders, Trump’s friends, or someone else entirely, we don’t know who but it looks suspiciously like the Trump administration is protecting someone.
The other possibility is that there really is nothing - which is precisely what the administration is now insisting is the case. If they are now telling the truth, Trump is experiencing the consequences of getting into power while advocating conspiracy theories. To be fair, he never seemed overly enthusiastic about exposing this particular issue. There was this little tidbit during a Fox interview:
”Yeah, I would. I guess I would," he said, before adding that he would be less likely "because you don't want to affect people's lives if it's phony stuff in there, because it's a lot of phony stuff with that whole world."
Doesn’t sound very enthusiastic at all. But he has cultivated the idea that he would expose the deep state, and that the deep state and others such as Israel were involved in the Epstein affair had a lot of traction in MAGA, and unfortunately for Trump, still does. And they now want Trump to deliver. Promise to expose the conspiracies, then find yourself in a position to deliver what you promised but there’s nothing to expose, you look ridiculous. But it’s too late - a bunch of people believed and he generally cultivated a conspiracy mindset, and when you say none exists, they’re going keep believing that there is, and that you (Trump) are now part of the conspiracy. How awkward.
So basically (at the risk of oversimplification), either Trump is protecting someone or there was nothing more going on than that a couple of perverts molested kids. I have no clue which is true.

I’m really not sure what you think I’m saying. Of course - we already know about him. And I strongly suspect there are others - perhaps many others. I was merely making the point that as regards the whole conspiracy thing, with the deep state and Israel and whatever else people think is involved, it’s not great for Trump any way you look at it - if there’s no conspiracy and he’s telling the truth that there isn’t, a lot of his followers aren’t going to believe him and he will then look to them like he’s in on the conspiracy. If there is one and he’s covering it up, that’s bad too - especially if he’s covering it up to protect someone (even if he isn’t implicated himself). I’m not denying that some (who knows how many) sickos abused young girls. I’m neither affirming nor denying that there’s a list. I don’t know what the truth is. I’m just saying it’s bad for the Trump administration no matter what the truth is, and that to at least some extent, Trump brought this grief on himself by stoking conspiratorial tendencies.
I should really correct what I said above when I said it’s bad for Trump however you look at it. Here’s a scenario that isn’t bad for him: He is completely innocent and the administration makes all evidence public (as much as is possible without compromising prosecutions) and prosecutes whoever is implicated. I think that what everyone wants is for the guilty to pay for their crimes. Why that’s not happening, I don’t know and I’m not willing to pretend that I do.
