Hey, I’m going to say up front that I’m not here to argue or get into the crap slinging type of foreplay that a couple of other “discussions” in here have devolved into. Heck you could be right with your “just a couple of perverts”theory. I don’t claim to know everything and I’m willing to listen to anybody’s theory on this as long as there is some credible evidence to it. Obviously, none of us have ALL of the facts. If I may, I’d like to offer a few things you may not (or maybe you have) have considered.
You admitted you didn’t know about the demise of Maxwell’s father. Curious as to what you know or don’t know about Les Wexner, Epstein’s gig as a math teacher, who gave him that job, how he advanced so quickly at Bear Stearns, how he became a billionaire, etc? Each one of these subjects is a deep well on its own.
There are a LOT of wild and strange pieces to the Epstein/Maxwell puzzle. While it is possible they were just a couple of perverts, when you look at the totality of all the people they associated with and were influenced and helped by through the years, you have to consider that there’s a lot of “coincidences” in this story. When you stack all of these coincidences up as you find out more and more information about these two, it has to at least make you scratch your head and go hmmm.

I think the modesty of my claim is easily overlooked and is not addressed by raising more details about the facts - unless that fact is some sort of smoking gun as opposed to more circumstantial grist for the theory mill. By “theory” I don’t mean guess - I mean something more like “comprehensive explanation”. Facts generally underdetermine theories (more than one theory can explain the same set of facts- this is well known in philosophy of science - it’s called the underdetermination thesis). I’m simply saying that the “just a couple of perverts “ theory is also compatible with the facts and has the virtues of simplicity and modesty of scope. I’m not actually saying that it’s correct. It does seem to me to be the most probable but I’m not highly confident about that. And that’s the point I’m making: That too much confidence about what happened is not warranted - especially if you’re saying that you are certain that you know and anyone who disagrees is nuts. Certainly is often borne out of bias, not knowledge. That appears to be the case here (not with you in particular).
I know, I’m a pain in the ass. Skeptics generally are.
