From Pee Wee to Supermini.

Is it time to make the same requirement for all classes?

This was implemented in the 2023 AMA Rule Book.

Should really be for everyone.  Good start tho.

I don’t see the downside to implementing this. Maybe it will bring about more advanced protection.

I agree, needs to be for pros too. I can’t believe some guys don’t run chest pros, or front only chest pros.

Also, I’m surprised that some of the back protection isn’t nearly as wide as the front side, I would think both sides would be equal in size. This is coming from someone who’s never ridden a dirt bike or owned a chest pro. Feel free to educate me.

There is a proposal going before the AMAs Medical/Safety and the Motocross Commission to mandate for all riders.

Kind of off topic but the new Alpinestars a-5 plasma is rated higher than the previous offerings.

Is this among the highest rated chest protection?

Not sure about the safest as that isn't my field of knowledge, but I wore it for the first time a couple weeks ago and I honestly didn't even notice I was wearing it after about 5 minutes. I'll never ride without one again.

I bought a HRP outside the Jersey 3 yrs ago.  I like the floating net web on the shoulders & not noticing it’s on.  It’s lighter than a 98 fox too.  A Decal id kit doesn’t come with the clear plastic template anymore . High quality decals stick the the protector good tho.  I got blasted with 450 roost grass on clay steep uphill start   . I never felt it man can you hear it tho hitting your front # plate too.

Did you try it on before buying? If not, does it fit true to the sizing chart?

Re: the A-Stars, feel the same about my Leatt 4.5 Pro Evo. Doesn't hinder me in any way. Each can determine whether there are any safety benefits.

I'm 6'1'ish and 190lbs, athletic build and I went with the XL/2XL and I am pretty much on the smallest adjustments around the chest, shoulders are good. Could have probably gotten away with the M/L if I am being honest.
