Most pros aren't much for spectating, and after racing for through two series that consume the majority of their year, the last thing they care to do is watch a race.

How many of you go to work on your day off, and pay airfare, hotel and other expenses to do it?

If I was to bet, I would say there will only a couple. I'm gong to guess The Alessi's (because they love racing) and maybe one or two others.
You can see more on TV and on your computer these days. Crazy that only a couple years ago, you had to be at the race to see and know everything about the weekend. But now, you know what's going on as it happens. No need to be there in person, unless you want to feel like you need to wash your face every 5 minutes (like I felt at Pala).

Exactly! Why would anyone want to go watch a dirty motorcycle race? Huh

I always thought it was enjoyable to be at a race when I wasn't racing......Get to watch all the races and not worry about being in a frame of mind to race.

Lot's of people do. Ever watch a Super Bowl or other major sporting event? I'm sure that even though they do it for a living some pro's are fans and enjoy a good race as well as the rest of us.

If you put in as much seat time as a pro level rider, you might think different.

Take into account that most of these riders have spent the majority of their lives at a race track. No matter how much you love the sport, to much of it gets to be tiring.

When a love or a hobby becomes a job or career, it becomes less of a love or hobby

Sad, but true

Wow, what a uninformed opinion/question. Unless it was sarcasm which it didn't sound like.

totally agree.

but do understand why some "pro's" dont wanna hang out at the track when not racing. call it bitter, bored, burned out, whatever. but can understand not wanting to go to another race after racing all year. BUT, you'd think some of them would be there for "the fans", to do some silly season PR or to take in the atmosphere to one of the greateest races in MX sport. especially knowing alot of them will never get the chance to race to race for there home country.. just my 2 cents..
