Israel is essentially at this time a fundamentalist religious ethno state. It’s even described as a quasi fascist ethno state by many of its own citizens.
It has a long standing plan and goal of hegemony in the Middle East through disruption and destabilization I.E. Syrian, Lebanon etc.

it uses proxies as does Iran, I.E. ISIS, Al Queda, Kurds, FSA.

It has an extreme religious faction that currently controls the government.

It engages in ethnic cleansing and mass killing campaigns.

It’s a nuclear power that does not participate in any type of checks, balances, inspections, etc.

It purposely drags the US into conflicts in the ME to serve its interests and no others.

A lot of the world and even our allies don’t really love America and don’t feel bad when shitty things happen to the country.
Why aren’t we bombing Mexico? They are a much larger real life threat on a daily basis.

All I know is that I voted to "MAGA" and this is not part of that agenda. It sucks right now, but there must be a bigger picture that I don't see. Trump did give warning ahead of time to evacuate, which was odd, so the Iranians had some time to remove "things" from the area...

Anything is possible. It's also possible that the Neocons are thirsty for another war. Iran has been on their list for a long time.

"Vice President JD Vance has suggested that Iran still controls a stockpile of enriched uranium, potentially enough to produce 10 nuclear warheads. There are also reports that Iran may still have in its possession advanced centrifuges. Combined, these could open up the possibility of Tehran embarking on a more covert nuclear weapons program." I haven’t heard the chanting…

Iran has directly and indirectly killed thousand of Americans in the last 40 years. They do a lot of it cowardly by proxy, because it gives them deniability.

Don’t kid yourself, they would drop a nuke in the middle of NYC or LA in a heartbeat if they had the ability.

Edit:

I just looked up where Houlton is located… like me, here in SW Missouri, you’d probably be safe.
I’ve been to Bangor, Bah Habah, Augusta, and Rockland, but had no idea where Houlton was.

We’re on the same page with a majority of topics but since I’m critical over this Iran/israel stuff I’m leftist ilk. Voted for Don three times. Kristi every time and Romney. Yeah total leftist.

You could be right.
You never know.

And yeah, Americans have died due to Iranian proxies, unfortunately that’s the cost of doing business as the global hegemonic power.
I know it’s apples to oranges but US deaths pale in comparison to the amount globally due to the use of US proxies and supported governments/regimes.
The US is one of the largest supporters of terror and war globally through both direct and indirect means.

Clearly Iran is not an ally and not a friend but I don’t think they are close to the threat they are made out to be to the US due to Israel and its interests.

I don’t think Israel is a good ally.

Ally maybe in a sense but almost entirely self serving.

Don't lie "Luke".

If Biden had done this all of you TDSers would be in full blown melt down about how he is causing WWIII and is mentally unfit to lead etc. etc.

But since Daddy Donald did it ya'll are just fucking loving it like good little sheeple.

That's the facts.  Period.

Now, whether you will be man enough to admit I'm right, I guess we'll have to wait and see just how honest you are.

Absolutely. In fact he still gets shit for pulling us out of the last war…. by literally following trumps exact withdrawal plan. Gotta give it to trump tho it was smart to conveniently put the withdrawal timeline the year after he left office. That way no matter what happens he could say it was a disaster.

That being said I’m an equal opportunist and I hate all politicians equally so I have 0 loyalties. So I can make my own opinions that arent tethered to the left or right and say that I give credit to trump for drawing up the withdrawal plan to get us out of there and I give credit to biden for following through with it or wed still be there today. It sucks that those 13 Marines were killed during the withdrawal, it sucks extra bad being a Marine vet, but 63 service members died during the previous 4 years in afghanistan and nobody gives a fuck about them cuz they happened under their guy. Cooper webb put those 13 Marines on his helmet, but what about the 63 others? They dont get a helmet? What about the 2,459 that died in total in afghanistan? Everybody only cared about the ones they could use for their own political motives. Its gross.

What I can say is that Im unapologetically pumped that since the withdrawal happened 0 more service members have died in Afghanistan so I give credit to both of them for getting us the fuck out of there. Credit to both sides, whens the last time you heard those words spoken in 2025 America…

That question is like asking “If Worm wins Southwick this year, will he get a factory rise at 61?”

It would have never happened, so why ask it. But, if it did happen, I would give him credit for doing one thing right in his Presidency, even though he more than likely wouldn’t have even known about it.

I think part of the leadership in all these countries want a war for different reasons. Israel as it would make them the regional hegemon, USA as they think it will be easy, the IRGC as they want America to overextend, and Saudi as Iran is a regional threat to them.

The deal made by the Obama Administration, Iran was adhering to. Then the Trump Administration dismantled that entire deal and then their nuclear enrichment began again. Because why wouldn’t they? A deal was made that they were following and then it just gets ripped to shreds by the next administration. So they said okay I guess the deal is off. Now the world is worried about Iran getting a nuclear bomb, as they should be, and the US took out their nuclear capabilities. For now anyway. Classic case of creating the problem and then being the solution. I’d expect gas prices to skyrocket if Iran or their proxies have even minor success on any oil tankers in the region.

Not sure if you know how prices at the pump work, but a barrel going down today isn't changing the prices tonight.

So... Do they go drop more bombs since their mission basically did fuck all? Or was it never about the fears of nukes? Seriously, what was the point of all of this? None of this had to happen.
